First US Illidan kill

US guild Death and Taxes has managed to snag the US-first Illidan kill and thus finish all available raid content in the game. Their US-first puts them world-sixth, behind European guilds Nihilum, Forte, Last Resort, Curse, and For the Horde. So I'm thinking the process has to go something like this....

Kill Illidan
Farm status
....
Profit!

Regardless of what step three may be, I'd like to congratulation Death and Taxes on their accomplishment!

If they got time to play and they want to spend their time doing that who can flame them if it is their personal choice. Anyone who flames would be doing so just to make themselves feel good.

Death and Taxes is a guild full of salty jerks. All they do is complain, bash the game, and say rude things. Have you seen their website? They just trash talk every encounter and are pretty negative. They don't deserve to have a post on wowinsider about them downing Illidan.

It's true--hardcore raiders don't have lives. Blizzard designed its end-game content as a massive timesink for super-nerds. Keep 'em playing, keep 'em paying.

heck i downed illidan yesterday by myself as a priest.

it is a very cool encounter.

the real question is when has anyone cared about a trophy for coloring inside the lines?

It's not the world-first kill, but it is the US-first kill, and I think that does deserve its own announcement. (The five guilds who have downed Illidan are all on EU realms.)

And, whether you like DNT or not, they are the first US guild to take on Illidan and win. I'd say it's a notable accomplishment.

What happened to Death & Taxes? They used to be pulling a lot of World First Kills. Now they get World 7th? They've been slacking, badly. What could they possibly kill to bring back their Firstness?

It's their attitude I bet. The memebers of Nihilum love this game, and you can see it by how they interact with the community, and make kill videos and such. Death and Taxes is just always so negative. I know I sound like a Nihilum fan boy (really I'm not) but it's the best example I can think of to contrast with D&T.

It's their attitude. They're so negative all the time and that has to hurt progression. The guilds that have outpaced them love the game, interact with the community, and don't bash every encounter they come across. Have you looked at the comments on D&T's website about the encounters? They sound like they hate the game.
