Addon Spotlight: SharedMedia (and other addon updates)

First of all, SuperInspect has always been a nice addon, but its original author dropped it some time ago, and since then it was picked up by Smurfy, who created the version I wrote about for all of you. Since then, however, I discovered another addon which is based on SuperInspect but is much more up-to-date, called Examiner. I've been trying it out, and I've found it to be basically the same, except that it's easier to use and less buggy.
Additionally, some of you mentioned that you like PitBull's appearance but found it took a while to configure in the beginning, while others said that they prefer the functionality of X-Perl Unit Frames "out of the box" even though it doesn't look as good. As for myself, of course I think PitBull achieves the right mix of beauty and functionality, but it doesn't hurt to mix it up a bit. Try each one out and keep the addon which you like best.
Also, many of you asked about whether or not Discord Mods had been updated, and I have since found a version of these mods put up by "Faldora" on Curse, which supposedly is supposed to work with patch 2.1. I haven't had the opportunity (or the interest) to try it out myself, but from the comments on the Curse page it seems a bit buggy. Die-hard Discord fans are still posting a lot about their own updated versions of these mods on the discord forums and they claim to have no errors with them, so you may wish to try them out as well. Apart from these links, all I can say is that the discord forum fans claim that the original author, Lozareth, is still very busy on a replacement for all Discord Mods called DUB (or Discord UI Builder) which may actually be able to replace all of the mods you own, so if you love gigantic do-everything mods from Discord, don't give up hope!

I've been using a version of Discord Unit Frames since BC came out with no problems. There's a link on the old Discord site to the working version of DUF. However, I do have my eye on Pitbull for if/when DUF ever bombs out.

If Lozareth is working hard on Discord right now, I'll eat my Spellstrike Hood.
It is of course his right to drop the mod, but it doesn't stop be from being disappointed with the situation.

@1, Sorry I don't personally use Discord Mods anymore, I'm just writing for the benefit of those of you who asked about it. I do believe however that you can go to http://www.discordmods.com/ and download premade skins there. There should be directions there as well. Some of them may be outdated or just buggy though. Sorry I can't help you.
@3 Lozareth only knows what he's working on. Regardless, even if he does finish it soon, I can't imagine myself using a megamod that takes 6 months or more to develop (and probably just as long to configure). Can you imagine what would happen when the next patch (or expansion!) comes and it all gets broken? No thanks. Who knows though? I reserve the right to change my mind. ;)

And even once you do get it nice and right it's still buggier then all get out.

I personally like MazzleUI. It does include some DUF as well as some Fubar addon's and a couple other nice ones. Easy setup, just extract into clean folder and run WoW, has a walk through "questionnaire" to install mods that you'll use. Only thing I've noticed is when you join a raid you have to change the layout to show on the top instead of bottom. (atleast for me I had to).

I'm a mod-oholic with billions of them cluttering up my Interface folder (mostly Ace 2). But I dowloaded and installed Shared Media and I can't figure out how to use it... or even exactly what it does.
Help?

Ok, I'm stumped. How exactly are you getting your class texts to appear on the border like that? Is there some special options addon I don't have?
Ryan Jul 9th 2007 5:11PM
Ok, replying to myself: You use the 'edge' frame properties.

Hi,
I just wanted to know the font on the picture above - the one that's used in the player's ui frame ("Otheleo" as well as the health/mana numbers)? does anyone know or what addon this could be?
Thx in advance
cheers,
inso

I just want one that makes player icons/faces appear as animated. I could do it inside Photek, but just want it on it's own.
Any ideas?
