Nihilum and Millenium at the ESWC
The Electronic Sports World Cup took place this past weekend in Paris, and featured a 5v5 exhibition (read: no bearing on the standings) arena match between two world-renowned guilds: Millenium (one of the top PvP guilds in Europe) and Nihilum (the top PvE guild in the world, though they've recently started participating in the arena). The results? Millenium's extensive PvP let them sweep the match, defeating Nihlium 5-0. For more pictures an info on the match, check the official ESWC page on WoW's European site.

This just proves the doesnt matter what gear you have it takes for skill to PvP then just have uber pwnt gear.

Millenium is written with one "n" only :D

FTFA:
"Both teams will use pre-made characters equipped with player-choosen gear -- limited to Season 1 PvP gear and Kael'thas PvE gear -- to ensure fair conditions during the match."
It's a lopsided battle. Millennium has the more PVP experience, and Nihilum loses any advantage they would've had from T3 gear. No shit they lost.

Yeah, Elizabeth W. beat me to this one and I didn't notice. (She'd talked to me about posting it, but I did a quick search for "nihilum" on the site and didn't come up with anything, which just goes to show... something, I'm sure.)
Her take on the event can be found here: http://www.wowinsider.com/2007/07/06/wow-arena-matches-at-electronic-sports-world-cup/

better than news about another world 6th (or was it seventh?) kill by DnT.

@6 and Millenium and ESports.. what's your point? and why are you yawning? if you are tired, you should go to sleep.

@4 You just proved everyone's point about nihilum and gear.
"It's a lopsided battle. Millennium has the more PVP experience, and Nihilum loses any advantage they would've had from T3 gear. No shit they lost."
I remember posting a couple of times here about people that think nihilum will now start pwn'ing arena. Each time I post "they don't have skill, just gear" I get flamed to hell and back.
Owned.

lol, they have skill, they've been PvE for like 2 years, and played around in arenas for like 4 days...
to make it a fair, next should be SSC clear race Nihilum vs Millinium with all season 1 or kaelthas and below gear, see who wins that one. I'm betting Nihil would clear it before mil got the first boss under 50%.

Millenium is (or was) a pretty good PvE guild too, had some EU firsts in old WoW I think.
But yeah, of course Millenium will win as they have so much more experience with pvp and in my opinion used a better setup. Nihilum probably used a druid mainly because he had some experience, especially with 2v2 and 3v3. Millenium probably used the classes that they have found worked best together.

guess they need 2 months on the test server to prepare.
then victory would surely have been theirs

@10
Please tell me how playing bots in an instance gives you skill.
You go in an instance.
You wipe.
You get back up and play the same exact situation over again with the same routine.
Have you seen the sites with "strats on beating X boss". You do understand why they have sites on this right? Because the fight doesn't change.
Please show me the sites on "how to beat Millenium" or any team for that matter. You can't, because you don't know what you are going to face. You could even say, well, I'll research what to do against a mage, priest, warrior. Well, what build are they?
All this adds up. If you don't have skill in PvP and can react and think quick, you aren't going to win against someone that can.
Play pve all day long, congrats, you beat a repeatable bot. And I'm not saying that doesn't take a certain type of skill (to plan and figure the routine out) but lets face it, it is NOT compaired to the skill of PvP at all.
Agrees with @12
