When I regularly played Alliance, I didn't bother. Raiding the Crossroads seemed like a waste of time when there were so many instances to run to get loot or battlegrounds to run to get honor (more honor than the occasional HK in the Barrens would give me, at any rate). Why run all the way out to the Crossroads to hassle the Horde and receive no loot and little or no honor? And now that I usually play Horde, I find it annoying when a group of level 70 Alliance come and spend an hour or more wiping out every NPC in the Crossroads. Hey, guys -- think you could leave the flightmaster alive for long enough to me to pick up the flight path? Please?
My only thoughts on the matter are that city raids like the near-constant assaults on the Barrens are an amusing change of pace for bored high levels... and I admit, fighting off Alliance in the Barrens are an entertaining distraction. But, really -- don't Crossroads raids eventually get as boring as any other existing content in the game? So I ask you, dear readers, do you spend your time in-game battling for the Crossroads? And if so, why?

@12 to reiterate @16, nowhere does anyone (besides one commenter above #12) getting ganked by level 70s in the crossroads. its all about them killing the npc quest givers.
But, i really like it when they attack xroads because it's fun :).

@35:
"All i hear is a bunch of QQing from the horde. If someone gets to 70, its their right to go and raid a town if they want, and if u have a problem then you should lvl up so you (and your friends if they have friends there) can go save the town."
No one said you didn't have the right. They're just wondering what's in for 70s to raid a level 20 town. You're not exactly accomplishing anything.

Well, I'm probably (definently) the exception rather than the rule, but the only time I've ever raided Crossroads was as a lvl 42 druid with a lvl 70 Priest friend. Some Horde showed up and slaughtered us a few minutes after we got there, but I had some fun sneaking around in cat form, avoiding the guards and other ppl until I could get off PvP...they still killed me, but wtev. My point is...ok, no point. Wtev. I'm gonna go get into Mt. Hyjal.

The Barrens are under attack! 3:30 already? Back before BC it was a somewhat regular thing. 20 allies attacking everything in site. 15 horde show up and they all scatter. Even awhile ago around 20 or so start raiding Tarren Mill, well more like the surrounding country side. So finally we had enough; got at least a 40 going and we were the proud new owners of Southshore cause nothing was left alive.

Doesn't bother me if allies raid XR. If they come in a big group you know they suck at pvp, so I just log in my main and pick off allies that get to far away from their buddies. Like someone posted earlier, it's only mildly inconvenient and not impressive. It's really only impressive if I see a single alliance just trashing XR. On Frostwolf there was an ally rogue named Farley that used to tear the place up single-handedly. He was impressive. The rest of the alliance were pretty much scrubs.
An attack on the UC, TB, or Org...that's much more impressive. It's actually fun to be a part of that as a horde char, especially if they are gunning for thrall or sylvannas.
They should put some kind of incentives for dropping targets in major cities. Even drop an epic or two! That would be pretty slick imo.

The difference is that The Horde do not have any contested questing zones at low levels. There is no Duskwood or Redridge. Hillsbrad goes both ways and so does Stonetalon. STV is all out war. Levels between 15-25 are all played out in Horde controlled areas. So, unless you are flagged....you have nothing to worry about. Now, try doing that in Duskwood at Raven's Hill or in Redridge around Lakeshire...if one 70 mage comes into town...they can wipe all players in town and most of the NPCs. If there is more than one...allies are screwed. The worst showing is for Darkshire...when there is a 70 mage and hunter on the roof of Madam Eva's house one shotting level 20s. I just ask myself why? What appeal does this have other than griefing. There is none...boredom does not explain it...no one can be that bored.

I don't really have a problem with Alliance raiding towns. It is a bit frustrating if they kill the quest NPCs and flightmasters etc but they eventually respawn. I take a deep calming breath and go do something else. The worst thing is when they kill you and you are miles away from a graveyard. The Xroads and Tarren Mill raids- graveyard is right there- no big deal. Splintertree post- a bit more of a walk - a bit more annoying.
I still don't understand what satisfaction a player gets from ganking another player 5 or more levels lower in World PvP. Don't understand at all. The gankee doesn't stand a chance- all they are doing is griefing another person- just because they can. Fair fights (or almost fair) I can understand and I accept it as part of the atmosphere on a PvP server. But level 70s mashing through contested zones slaughtering the lvl 20-40 people just questing and doing their thing? Why? WHY? Are you 12? Retarded? Both? Cos those are the only valid justifications. What's your reason?
