Fly away on your broom, Harry Potter

Warlocks rejoice, or at least I am rejoicing for the possibility of a new flying mount for my Warlock. Palm over at Worldofraids sent us some additional information about what is loaded into Patch 2.2, and although armor and weapons are always interesting to me, I was totally giddy when I saw the above image.
I would love to be able to say that this means that there will be a warlock-specific flying mount, but I actually doubt it. These days the trends more towards cool mounts like these being drops from instances, available to anyone. In a way the ability to fly away a la Harry Potter would be just as cool if it were available for anyone, I just hold on to the idea of Paladin and Warlock specific flying mounts tightly. Like death-grip tightly. If druids can have flight form, I don't see why locks and pallies can't have a quested flying mount. It only makes sense since they quest for their epic mounts.
Until further evidence comes to light keeping my hope alive, I will keep my eye out for more info on the Broom Mount. Perhaps that Grynfinndor guild you've been thinking about creating will now be able to soar through the skies in Quidditch formations soon.

@8 Wow go outside or clean up the blood off our keyboard from the self inflicted wounds you give yourself.

I don't understand why Pallies and Locks feel entitled to a class specific flying mount. They already got a free mount at 40 and a mount quest at 60. I just don't get why they think they should also have a class specific flying mount, and citing that druids get flight form doesn't make sense...it's not like there's druids riding around on druid-specific level 40 and 60 mounts.
I just don't get it. You guys already got your mount love at level 40 and 60, you want even MORE special stuff at 70?

I think it will be like the raindeer thing on vinter veil but only useable on flying mounts.

Yes. Yes we do.
No but seriously, speaking for the warlock 40/60 mounts - in a way, they are not really "mounts" at all they are actually "spells". If warlocks want a REAL equipable mount we it must be purchased just like everyone else. So just to fit in with that current scheme, it would be cool if locks got a Flying mount "spell" through a questline similar to the ones for the 40/60 mount-spells.
(I also think it would be great if Hunters could tame their mount through a quested talent like someone mentioned earlier)

There really hasn't been any use of them in WarCraft yet, but this would be interesting!
It'd be cool for Mages and Warlocks. Gnome female in a wizard hat on a broom! XD

@24: whatever you call them mounts or Spells it doesn't matter: having level 40 and 60 mount-spells is not a reason that you should get a flying mount-spell, it's a reason against it.

I wish the lock mounts were free... Sure, back in the day, I could get a normal and epic mount without buying the skill. The epic mount is anything but free, and requires a min of 250g plus all the mats.
Then the TBC came out, and in order for my lock to get the flying mount, I had to train normal riding, then get it up to 150. By the time it was said and done, I had to spend TWICE what everyone else did for their epic land mounts. Tell me how that is free...

Why the hell do you think it should be a lock only mount? That would just piss off the other 80% of the game population. Isn't it enough that you have God like powers?

@24
OK, but only as long as your "spells" no longer benefit from riding crops nor Crusader auras.
Theserene Jul 14th 2007 8:49AM
People seem to think that warlocks get their epic mounts totally 'free'.
You try finding groups for Scholo and DM to do the bits of it, plus the grinding for mats beforehand. It ain't free people, it never was. In terms of cost I probably spent the same amount as you did for YOUR epic mount.
Oh and modern male witches are not called 'Warlocks'. Just ask any wiccan :)

Personally, I think flying broom = mage, warlocks should get a flying dracolich like the one in terrokar forest, that you summon for quest.
