Small Orc shoulders official?

Now, this doesn't actually mean that Blizzard is lying to us-- maybe one of their staffers had to get the armor set in, and accidentally used the small shoulder art. But it does at least tell us that Blizzard's right hand isn't talking to their left. And it does give just a little more credence to the conspiracy theorists among us-- why were the shoulders changed in the first place? Is Blizzard trying to stealth nerf those gigantic Orc shoulders?
Admittedly, it's not a huge deal (unless you're a male Orc and extremely proud of your larger than life shoulder armor). But you do have to wonder why Blizzard is being so skittish about this-- are they actually trying to make changes to the art that players just don't agree with? And if it is just a bug, why hasn't it been fixed yet?

God guys stop acting like lil babes. I don't play a Orc for his shoulder armor. I couldnt care less if they keep them small. As long as the stats don't change I couldn't give a flying ****!
Nails Jul 19th 2007 4:39PM
i dont play an orc, but damn that's gay
locomoco Jul 19th 2007 4:45PM
Geez... it's already been explained that the artwork on the armor site was taken from the current build, and that the artwork would be corrected to reflect the appropriate proportions.
Bad enough we have to suffer all the whiny posts on Blizzard's boards about this from people who don't read... but this is a site that people come for news and information.
Why are you posting whiny, ill-informed posts like this?
Angael Jul 19th 2007 4:48PM
who cares... how many times do we have to hear about this.
Urthona Jul 19th 2007 4:50PM
Uhm, are you all NEW?
Shoulder Armor is the MOST IMPORTANT item for the WoW aesthete. It's SUPPOSED to be big, it announces your status and level of progression. Plus, it's WoW. Bigger than life is the damn point.
Also: You can blame the emphasis on shoulders on Herod, Champion of the Scarlet Crusade.
Thijz Jul 19th 2007 4:51PM
Well, it does suck for the Orcs, but I can really see you guys have to get a minimum amount of blogs per month/week, cause there's just more and more useless items here... :/

Just another bit of info... got this while talking to a GM a little while ago. (after Blizz had already said they were fixing it)

Just proof that there's not a lot of communication going on there...
suzuk Jul 19th 2007 4:54PM
This is false. The shoulders will be fixed in 2.2.

I guess it's neccessary to post about this issue that is being fixed every few hours. It was posted about at 10:41am today. They said they're fixing it, what more do you want?
rick gregory Jul 19th 2007 4:54PM
Jesus people get over it. What, they should hotfix it so you can resume compensating for other inadequacies?
As someone explained in your first post about this, the bug probably happened in the first place because the code is complex and intertwined with other things. You don't make snap changes to code like that just because of some whiny 15 year old..
Forgrim Jul 19th 2007 4:59PM
God for every one person complaining about this there are 2 people complaining about reading it. If it doesn't affect you then ignore it, but don't pretend that it wouldn't bother you if it happened to your race. So your character's looks get drasticallty altered in a patch, it takes about a week and a half to get an official response, and the whole time you have to hear people voice how bothered they are that you are bothered by it. It's really simple, don't click on the thread that mentions orc shoulders.

Big multi-billion dollar company...is it really any surprise the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing? I guarantee you the web guy took the files for posting out of the art directory without checking with anyone if they were the right versions. And seeing as we're still in PTR time...then they still have time to implement the fix. Do you honestly expect 100% of the fixes to be posted and done hour 1 of PTR uptime?
Zor Jul 19th 2007 5:15PM
anyone else find the old ones gaudy?
at least these are proportionate in size
1970's FTL
only thing worse, squishy BG shoulders.
lawls,
mattyt17 Jul 19th 2007 5:17PM
why is this getting more attention than AFKers in BGs?
Jason Jul 19th 2007 5:19PM
I haven't checked all the sets, but for hunters, there's only one affected by the bug on the Armor Viewer page; Merciless Gladiator.
GG to Mike for another poorly researched inflammatory article.
James Jul 19th 2007 5:23PM
Why is this getting more attention than the AFK BG issue, or the 1000 other things that are more important? Is all of WoWInsider playing orcs or something? This isn't news any more.
James Jul 19th 2007 5:30PM
Do you people even read the BlueTracker? blue.cardplace.com?
This problem cannot be solved through hotfix, it requires a patch, and they aren't going to stop all the work on 2.2, to push out a male orc shoulder artwork change. This is a bug, it's going to be fixed, the PvP stuff has already been addressed, WoWInsider is about 3 days behind on their news. GG.
Kahja Jul 19th 2007 5:29PM
Protip: Make the orcs proportional to the shoulders.

I just wish there were some other way to convey the humour to them that I find in their hugely undersized shoulders! My Gnome has bigger shoulders than you!!
