Breakfast Topic: Karma comes around
Elizabeth talked about karma in that fun little guild drama story last week, but karma is even better when it comes not from other players, but from the game itself. Case in point: the_pr0letariat on WoW LJ got laughed at by a Hordie while almost dying to a Hellfire boar, so it made things doubly sweet when a Fel Reaver stomped by a few minutes later and sent the Horde on a corpse run.Likewise, I was almost ganked a long while back while grinding on my rogue in front of Blackrock Mountain-- a gnome rogue tried to take me out while I was fighting with a Lava Spider, but I'd recently pickpocketed a few potions, so I kept the fight going for a little while, long enough to swing the gnome around near the Dark Iron mobs there. Just as he was about to finish me off, three Dark Iron mobs latched onto him, I vanished, and I got to /laugh at him as they beat him down.
Have you seen karma come around in the game? Or maybe it's come around on you...

Too funny ^^
At Skettis I was trying to down those trees and then out of nowhere when the tree was at 10% health a gnome mage started to beat me down, when I was already low health. I knew I was dead so I feared both the mobs and started to run away, and the laughed so loud when the tree beat down the gnome in about 10 seconds :D
So I fininshed the tree and looted it :D

i grouped with a belfadin in burning steppes to kill off some of the ogres there. high on the top of the large hill where you get the nose ring quest, he starts making fun of me for being a frost mage and just generally being a jerk... about 30 seconds later the knockback from one of the ogres knocks him down off the hill, where he falls to his death.
sweet justice. :-D

Some time ago I was playing a Hunter and had reached around level 40+. I thought it was amazingly funny to scare lowbies by tagging them with Hunter's Mark and watching them flee :-D
Well, one night I was in Booty Bay and couldn't resist tagging a level 7 Night Elf with Hunter's Mark... Little did I know even a simple Hunter's Mark would angry the Bruisers so I guess I got some of that Instant Karma ;-)

This one time...
While grinding in STV, I was fighting a mob when I saw an Orc Hunter approach. He waited until I downed the mob then attacked me (I had just downed 2 mobs and was low on health). Needless to say I went down quick. The walk back to my corpse was long enough to make me a little ticked, to say the least. I rezzed and after about 10-15 minutes of searching for this dude, I gave up the search. I decided to head to Booty Bay to empty my bags -- when low-and-behold, who should be standing in the road to Booty Bay fighting a mob and low on health?
Charge > Execute > /spit
Ahhhh, sweet revenge.

Earlier this week I was hanging out in Hellfire waiting for my team to show up, when a lower lvl warlock put out the call that he was being camped by a rogue. When I get there the rogue is preoccupied with some mobs, so I lay down some big burst damage and he takes off running...right into a Fel Reaver.
The karma came just last night when our team had wiped on a mob in heroic Sethekk, and I was the last one alive, trying to kite the last enemy in the mob down. I hit a jump shot on him and proceed to jump right into the middle of a 3-man group we had skipped.

I was in Thunder Axe Fortress in Desolace. I had just fought my way into the building with the corrupt Night Elf and was almost to the main room. Well when I was almost done downing a mob I got stunned by a Charging Orc Warrior.
So I popped PW: S, finished the mob and used my Priest ace in the hole and feared his butt. He ran right into the main room and aggroed like 5 guys. Dirty Orc... getting attacked mid fight is my pet peeve, I don't do it to Horde, and I wish they didn't do it either...

Story I heard - so it's all second / third / fourth hand info, but ...
A warrior who was questing (Somewhere) was fighting a mob and having a hard time of it. He was 1/2 health when a rogue decided he'd get himself a nice easy HK ... he unleashed himself on the warrior while the warrior was still busy fighting. Warrior ignores rogue and carries on with the mob (gotta love plate ;->).
Anyway, at

This one time, at band camp...
Seriously, this isn't my story, but a Hunter friend was mining in the outlands, when a same-faction toon slips in and steals his node...Quickly, he invited the goon who accepted...he then misdirected a mob right to this a-hole and had the node to himself while this poor slob had to fight for his life.
Sweet vigilante justice.

k, that's a bit wierd - my post seems to be cutting off ..
The long and the short is at less that 5% health, the warrior kills the mob... and dings !!!
Instant, full, heal ...
I think the shock killed the norty rogue before the 2 Mortal Strikes ;-)

I have a couple.
Waiting for the boat in BB my 41 lock was ganked by a 50 troll rogue. He managed to escape the bruisers and was waiting for the boat, out of stealth, when I got back to my corpse. I rezzed just as the boat arrived and ran onboard, figuring he'd whack me again and I'd miss the boat. I made it on. The boat set sail, he vanished and sure enough I was dead. I hadn't used my SS before because I have been in this situation before and had an idea. He stood there /lol at me, I rezzed with the SS and target > fear. It worked, and he ran off the boat before we hit the load screen. I win.
The other time I can think of, off the top of my head was me getting some payback for a gankfest laid upon my butt in Tanaris. I had left STV after it became unplayable PvE because of all the bored Horde twinks and ?? committing genocide in the zone and headed up to Arathi Highlands. I spotted a 34 warlock with his VW out taking on 2 raptors. The VW had the agg, but the lock was in close to the action. I brought it a little closer for him and banished his VW. Took him completely by surprise.

My brother and I were playing our 50+ level Horde guys in STV down near the entrance to Booty Bay, when we run up on a NE ganking a low lvl orc. We charge to the orcs rescue just as two 60 Allies ride around the corner. The Allies kill us, finish off the lowbie orc and ride off. Funny thing was, the stupid NE didn't have the sense to flee the scene of the crime. So when we ran back from the graveyard he was sitting near our corpses drinking. Needless to say, we got him back.

When BC first came out, my wife and I were completing the quest chain over by the temple of tahlmut. Where you have to kill the orcs. Now we play on a PVE server cause she hates PVP. So we're questing, and along come three horde. They start emoting us and challenging/spit on us. We ignore them.
Now, 2 of them give up after a little bit, but the troll shammy just won't give up. He starts jumping right on the mobs we're trying to kill and my wife accidentally targets him and attacks. Well he goes after her right away. I tell her to run, and I vanish and cheap shot him. Then pummel away till he's dead. His friends come up over the ridge and I just sprinted away.
We weren't looking for a fight, so I figure Karma gave that shammy a little lesson in humility. We waited for the PVP flags to wear off and then went back to finish off our quest. Funnily enough, the 3 horde were gone and we finished our quest in peace.

I was jumped by a rogue when I was in my 60s in Hellfire and began to run away in Ghost Wolf. I eventually stopped and was stuck on the edge of the world and high level mobs just out of aggro range to my left and right. As the rogue ran out to me he popped Sprint to rush in for the final kill and instead overshot me and fell off the edge of the world.

Settle down children, this is a fun one:
Way way back before the Blasted Lands was just a waystation for the Dark Portal I traveled there with my boyfriend so he could tame a boar with his hunter. He is in the middle of channeling the taming when a very clueless Paladin came over and killed the boar that was being tamed. Seriously, WTF?
We were busy yelling at him when I noticed that Teremus the Devouer was approaching our group. *cue jaws theme* and I told my boyfriend to book it. The Paladin was still standing there looking all confused when Teremus one shotted him.

I am not sure if it is karma, but it was kind of fun...
A few weeks ago I was bored so I was just running around with my 70 Hunter. I ended up in Ashenvale and was just site seeing and exploring until eventually I had to log out to go to work.
Well, a few days later I was again in those same woods with my 29 priest to do some leveling. Uusally there is fighting in the woods, but mostly by Splinter tree post, so I tend to stay away from it. Today however I was spotted by three Ally who wanted to ruin my day. They all attacked me - each a mid level 30 - so I did not stand a chance. When I corpse ran I found them camping my body. I shrugged and remembered I had a 70 hunter in the area.
A few minutes later I found them dancing around my body... I wanted to play with them, so I killed them one at a time and laughed while the others ran. There is no better feeling than when you can serve your own justice.
It was mostly dumb luck I had my hunter there. Usually he is so far away from my Alts, by the time I could get him close enough to protect them the threat would be gone...

It is always very nice to see Karma smack a well deserving moron upside the head, or stomp him into a well formed pile of goo.

Karazhan, the shade rooms before Shade of Aran.
I was leading the raid and had just commented that everyone should stay behind MT for the next 3 rooms ... apparently our mage wasn't on vent and proceeded to run straight into the room, and die. I nicely chewed her ass in raid chat and told her to GTF in vent, etc etc.
Clear room, clear imp/caster room.
Next shade room ... my w-key sticks ... I spaz like an rtard and run ... straight into ... the shade room.
Karma.
I still get shit about that pull and every time the mage is in my group, she makes sure I know to stay behind the MT.

There is nothing sweeter than Karma, especially because it ought to be mainly coming around to the cheatiest of classes, the Rogue. It never ceases to annoy me at just how cheap they are, consistenly sitting in stealth mode, waiting until you are at
pkeller Jul 20th 2007 11:29AM
(got cut off?) less than 50% HP, then cheap shotting you. This is what happened to me in Un'Goro by a Gnome Rogue who waited until I was battling a large group of Gorillas at which point he felt the need to help them out and kill me. Karma came around when I rezzed as I found him mining a vein. I proceeded to return the favor by full casting pyroblast and PoM Pyroblast right into his back (the only place Rogues are brave enough to attack). Instant death for him. /spit
