Upper Deck shows off the new loot cards

And of course there's the much awaited Spectral Tiger Mount, available in both regular and Epic flavors (strangely enough, they're making you pay the regular mount price for it, even after getting the special loot card code.
And if you're actually playing the game (not just using the codes for the cool in game stuff), Mike Hummel also reveals what each card does in game-- the Spectral Tiger card provides a buff to allies in your party with the Elusive and Ferocity qualities. Cool stuff. All of the cards will be foil cards, so if you're planning on grabbing some of the Fires of Outland packs (coming to stores in late August, we're told), keep an eye out.

I don't see the information on the Spectral Tiger giving in-game bonuses. The only bonuses shown are for the card game.

He means in the card game.
One rule for the loot cards is they're not allowed to confer any advantage on the player in game. If there was some uber epic sword or whatever, people could just go out and buy ten boxes of boosters until they got it, basically buying an in-game advantage (not to mention it's fine to sell/trade these loot cards on Ebay).
Because of this the first in-game mount from loot cards (turtle) was limited to 100% speed, ie.walking speed, which obviously sucks as while it's nice to sit about on in Stormwind, you'd never really use it in game.
This time they've improved the purchasing interface so that you use the code to purchase the right to buy the mount at either speed for the regular cost. Thus keeping within the 'no in-game advantage' rule, but still providing something that's actually useable.

actually the trading card things giving you anything is a load of shit.
you know for a FACT there are several sad fuckers who go out of there way to buy a million packs of playing cards in the hope of getting the mount.
I hate to sound like a teenager but it's just blatantly unfair and the ONLY reason they do it is so people buy more game cards. if we all just boycotted them and nobody bought any cards then we wouldn't have a problem.

@3 look if people want cool stuff in game and are will ing to pay for it good on them. If I could justify it I'd go to Blizzcon and get a murloc suit... and if I still played CCG (Customisable Card Games) I'd buy it. It simple cross promotion and BASIC marketing. If you have a problem with it... then don't buy the stuff.
Regardless of that there is no need for language that others my find offensive... either in game or out... I believe we've have a few topics discussing this point already in WI.
Cheers,
Mark

Crapton seriously, cry more. Some of us actually play the game, I'm not boycotting jack just because I have more money and/or desire than you do to own something absolutely useless but none-the-less pretty cool. Welcome to the real world where people use gimmicks to sell a product. They've done very well out of it and of course if you actually played the card game you'd know it was awesome too.
Sounds like the jealous wailing of a no-good child who doesn't have all these cool yet utterly useless in-game toys to play with. You remind me of those crying about the murky pet. I'm the happy owner of many of these, including the murky and I can tell you for a fact that people like you make it so much more worthwhile. Makes us collectors feel warm and fuzzy inside to know that we've angered an oversensitive jealous whelp :>

Just to clear things up, you don't 'get' a mount from the card. You still have to train your riding skill from one of the usual mount vendors. All Landro does is give you the option to buy a new skin for your mount, which is what EVERY mount in the game is. You drop all your money for the skill, and then choose which style of mount you want to ride around on. Not only does that allow Upper Deck to give players a cool option without providing an advantage that they don't deserve just for spending money.
Of course the loot cards are promotional items. Lots of people play both the TCG and the MMO, so why not give them some fun stuff to integrate their passions? Why boycott the game? It's clear you don't have any interest in it, but why spread your misery to others crapton? Your logic is non-existent. Why should people boycott the game because of the loot items? Did seeing the special tabards make your eyes bleed? Did seeing a hibachi grill with an umbrella violate your moral principles? Are you seriously the only person alive who gets angry when someone puts the ogre suit on and /dances?I can assure you that the spectral tiger mount is the same speed as every other mount. The only difference is when other people stop and stare:-)
Loot items will NEVER give advantages to players in game. If you want to complain about cosmetic items, then you should also begin a campaign against Blizzard for those horrid murloc suits and pets they keep ruining the game with! (sarcasm)
As a side note, you really shouldn't bash the TCG, it's far and away the best one made to date. It's not just WoW flavor slapped on a game like most IP-driven games. If you haven't tried it out, you really should.
I vote that we should find out what server crapton's on though, so we can all jump over and swarm him with tiger mounts, ogre outfits, and murlocs at every opportunity:-) Who's with me?

any ideas on if this (tiger) is normal mount speed or just another waste of time turtle?
