Lyrsuk of Lothar gives us a glance of the event you get to participate in if you ever reach exalted status with the Netherwing: a dragon ride! Sadly, this dragon makes the cool mount you're about to get look awfully puny... My question is what faction standing do we have to get before we can get the dragon in the screenshot as a permanent mount?

Please God, no. I got my netherdrake on the 8th day following the patch, and let me tell you it's not all it's cracked up to be. The darn thing is HUGE! It fills up my screen from one side to the other with the camera all the way zoomed out, and it has all that glowing transparency to it that causes my frame rates to drop while riding it. I'm much happier with the Ray mount, it's small and I can see where I am going. I like mounts, I even have the Black War Talbuk, but the Netherdrake mount needs a bit of shrinkage done to it.

Thats the ride you get when you hit exalted and initiate the event that summons illidan for a chat.
You get this ride from netherwing ledge to shattrath (takes about 25 minutes no joke, get a cup of tea), then you get to pick your netherdrake.

You know can increase the max camera distance in the interface options, right? If you set it to its greatest setting, I'm sure you'll have way more than enough room on screen.
Can't help you with the frame rate problem. Maybe if each person who reads this post PayPals you $1 you can buy a new video card ;)

One other thing, the dragon ride from Netherwing Ledge to Shatt is on 60% speed. Enjoy the ride.

Someone on a Netherdrake sitting on top of the Arena Battlemaster in Shat with no way to click on the NPC = bad.
