More Zul'Aman previews
Here's two more previews from Zul'Aman floating around the Interwebs. Games Radar has a nice little preview up, including info on the bear mount (!), which (apparently-- it's not confirmed yet, although come on) drops from Narolakk, a bear boss that you actually have to chase across the city. GR says the instance will be "a spiritual successor to Zul'Gurub" (music to the ears of many players, including me), and that it'll be a little brighter and more wide open than the other late game instances, which should get yet another mark of approval from players.Frictionless Insight also has a preview, in which they say the four animal bosses will consist of Bear, Eagle, Lynx, and Dragon Hawk spirits. Strangely enough, we've already heard that there will also be a "god of evil" as well as a witch doctor and the end boss Zul'jin, which means there may be more than the six bosses that Blizzard first hinted at. Additionally, we've heard from quite a few sources now that the Zul'Aman trash will be very sociable (as in, there will be mobs that bring more if you're not careful), but Frictionless Insight says the dungeon itself will start with a boss, not trash, so even more good news for most raiders.
All in all, Zul'Aman seems to be shaping up nicely. There's no telling when we'll see it on the PTRs, but I would be very surprised if Blizzard didn't let us play it (or at least see a preview of it) at Blizzcon. Storm the castle!
Thanks, Aaron!

The eagle, bear and dragonhawk bosses are in the MPQ files, and as I have suggested before, the "god of evil" might be a misinterpretation of "eagle".

There are currently 6 25 Man raid instances
There is only currently 1 10 man raid instance in game.
I don't think putting in another 10 man raid instance instead of a 25 man raid instance is going to hurt anything at all. There is still plently of 25 man raid content for players to go through.

More 25 man content? Gruul, Magtheridon, SSC, Tempest Keep and the Black Temple aren't enough? There is exactly one 10 man in all of BC compared to 4 full blown 25 man dungeons and you're whining because there isn't enough. That's...sad, but not surprising.

The "god of evil" is probably Ula'tek. She's a Serpent Loa, whose champion we killed back in Zul'Gurub. There's a very good possibility that she's an Old God. There are depictions of Old God-like creatures with single, glowing eyes in the center on several stones around Zul'Aman.

@1 The next 25man will be above Black Temple, and only 1% is getting into Black Temple... so another 25man is a waste of time.
99.99% of guilds run Kara, so its time for the next 10man on the scale. The next 10 man is overdue... especially since ZulAman was suppose to be in BC on release day.
Karazhan 99.99%
Gruul's Lair 61.78%
Magtheridon's Lair 21.45%
Serpentshrine Cavern 14.98%
The Eye 17.99%
Hyjal Summit 1.27%
The Black Temple 0.99%

I agree with #2, the "god of evil" is most likely a misheard interpretation of "eagle god."
I can't wait, this instance looks pretty fun :)

@6 While I like your overall point, I think making up stats hurts what you are trying to say. Site your data please.

I e-mailed the site with a tip, but it seems to have been ignored--previews are nice, but we won't see Zul'Aman in 2.2, unless it's added in a 2.2.x patch.

The new features mentioned in recent developer interviews are planned for a future patch, they will not be part of 2.2."

@6 (Shadowisp) - Wowjutsu is only concerned with trawling the armory looking for loot, and using that to gauge where guilds are up to. 99.99% of guilds don't run Kara, just 99.99% of guilds picked up by WoWJutsu do. Which means that somewhere out there, a guild has bypassed Kara completely and gone straight to Gruul.
Danya Jul 24th 2007 5:33AM
@10 - Chances are the guild that went directly to Gruul just recruited someone with Gruul gear, possibly a burnt-out raider who's now doing PvP or casual content.
mike Jul 24th 2007 1:54AM
Wouldn't it come up as not having run kara if not a single person in the guild has a piece of kara loot equipped?
csulok Jul 24th 2007 1:59AM
"Strangely enough, we've already heard that there will also be a "god of evil""
no, you are just retarded and took gamespots TYPO granted. the eagle god has been datamined before 2.1 and with some IQ you can easily find out the god of evil ISN'T an animal boss, as the context of the sentences suggested where it was first written falsely about.
Shadowisp Jul 24th 2007 2:15AM
@10 I seriously doubt anyone has skipped Kara, unless they thought they could do Mags in nothing but Dungeon Blues and Heroic Epics.
While WoWjutsu only trawls the Armory, it has been running a fair while, so I expect it to be fairly accurate since inspections of WoWjutsu seem to be accurate and regular updated... only way I can see someone skipping out on WoWjutsu capture is either by stripping naked each time you log, unguilded, or wearing a [Tin Hat]. :P
If you inspect WoWjustsu stats further, all guilds listed are flagged as done Kara... I dont think anyone has skipped Kara, cause you need to scale your itemisation to handle the scale of bosses in ever increasing scale.... dont think you can go smacking around Serpentshrine without a nice collection of T4 and equivalents :P
Also if you see the statistics further, you will also observe that the majority of kills in most of the 25man instances are based on the first few bosses and very little on the end bosses. Based on that stats as more of a confirmation only a small amount of guilds have mastered the 25man instances... so adding another is kind of pointless at this stage as it would be an overabundance of effort to satisfy a very small amount of players.

If you read the WowJutsu FAQ, you'll see that it only ranks guilds who have at least 10 level 70 players and an instance-loot score of at least 20, which is comparable to being halfway through Karazhan.
So of course, 99.99% of guilds who are at least halfway through Karazhan have been to Karazhan.
The .01% would represent a guild that's never killed a boss in Karazhan, but one of whose members have gotten loot from a boss in Gruul's Lair. Wowjutsu has no way to know whether a player was in a raid consisting of their own guildmembers at the time they got a piece of loot. Undoubtedly that means that player filled in an empty slot in a more-progressed guild's raid.
This also explains the numerous cases where WowJutsu credits a guild for killing Gruul that has never killed Maulgar.
