For identifying shadow priests, some will not be in Shadowform during PvP so that they can also heal people around them not in their own party. One key point to tell them apart is the use of Mind Flay (commonly known as "melt face") which is the tentacle-like spell that spreads from the priest to his target doing damage while channeled. Mind Flay is a talent therefore a good indicator of a shadow priest when out of Shadowform. Another indicator is if you get Shadow Vulnerability as a side affect of their damage-dealing spells. Shadow Weaving is the talent that causes this is a bit lower down in the Shadow tree so is even more conclusive of a Shadow spec.
