Embed your Armory info
Ever looked at your Armory page and thought "this is nice, but I wish I could put it on another web page"? Well, now you can! MMO Guildsites has created a widget that can be embedded anywhere you like (guild rosters, maybe?), and consists of an iframe linking to a script that runs on their servers (so you don't need any server-side script support on your own site). The output is rather pretty, as you can see at right; in fact, I like it better than the actual Armory in many ways.It does have a few shortcomings -- you can't see how much +damage you have in various schools, for instance -- but I still like it as a way to put live Armory data anywhere you want it. (It can show PvP data too, by the way, but I turned mine off for the screenshot since my numbers are downright shameful.) If you're interested, click over to their site, put in your server and character name, and it'll generate a preview and HTML for you to paste wherever you want it.

Weak. Doesn't show enchants, gems, or random enchants on greens.
It's even missing one of my trinkets.

Really buggy. Displays my 5v5 team as a 2v2. Strange places you need to hold mouse to see the tooltip, no enchants, no gems. It's nothing I would use, but the idea is nice, would really be good on our guild site.

Broken in Safari.

Refuses to work in IE7 under Vista.

This is really nice, but I don't know of a single major forum that allows for embedded iFrames. Even Livejournal chokes on it. So while it's a great idea (even with the flawed implementation), I'm failing to see the wider appeal to it.

Well, BRK has it running under Blogger. Impressed? Not terribly, mainly for all the reasons #1 said.

Using tables to layout for that kind of data is a bad idea. Broken in a few browsers. Would be best if it was written to do the layout in CSS. That way iFrames can be told to gtfo.

Doesn't work for me on Blogger.

As #1 said, weak. No skills tab, and for my hunter, no pet tab. Great concept, poor implementation. For now, I'll stick with wowroster for showing my info.
Hopefully, a future version of MMO's script will address the issues with both layout and information.

Works very well on our guild forums, but I can't see the use for it. It's too big to use as a forum signature.

Despite the complaints...
I'm impressed. Runs faster on my browser than that horrible lag fest it's pulling the info from.

It doesn't seem to work on ICftB guild website either, and I agree it is very limited in what it shows BUT it does load a LOT faster! Their database seems to be updated a little more though.

It would be nifty if you could get a snapshotted image of your character on the armory to reflect different gear sets. Does anyone know of a tool such as this?

Not broken but looks funny in Opera.

GameStreet.Net has a similar character info screen, but its not embeddable in other sites. Instead its customizable like a myspace page.. It pull the info from the armory nightly and shows it on screen, and you can add screenshots, blogs, even your own personal forum. http://www.gamestreet.net
