Around Azeroth: Safeguarding Stormwind is hard work
Reader Ted of Gurubashi sends in this interesting shot taken inside Stormwind City. Up along the city walls, and entirely unaccessable, are a scattering of Gryphons. No doubt there for the safeguarding of the city -- but they are so distant from the ground that I imagine they often go completely unnoticed.

This is a great example of what makes WoW such a great game: All the little details.
The game world is full of all sorts of little things no one really notices, but they all add to the whole.

I just noticed that last night too

I'm curious about where on the SW walls this can be found. I've never seen these gryphs before, but then, I don't spend much time in SW.

If you are standing in the town square, look toward the main gates and just up to the left.
Oh, and I 100% agree with Rihahn. The attention to detail in the WoW universe makes it truly a great game!

I really really wanted to believe it'd related with flying mounts coming to Azeroth... Yes, because every camp/town/city at Outland have some anti-air guards.

Actually I recall seeing them when you're going to the Flightmaster area of the Trade District in Stormwind. There's at least 7 roosted gryphons along the edge of the roof/wall that the flightmaster is inside.
