Those evil, evil Warlocks

I'm not quite sure if I buy this assessment from Mystic Worlds: She says that Warlocks are the new villians of WoW. Just like everyone used to hate Paladins (wait, we stopped hating Paladins?), Warlocks are the new class people love to hate and consider extremely OP.She says, insightfully, that the reason for this is that Warlocks have just tons of annoying abilities. Fear is probably foremost among them-- with a skilled Warlock, your character spends half the fight out of your control. Soul Link and Felguards are just plain evil (it's like having a Warrior tank for you), and with all those DoTs, a lock is hellfire on wheels (and ten locks in WSG are even worse). Not to mention that since locks love to load up on Stamina, they're tough to kill, too.
It's just MW's timing that I don't agree with-- people have hated Warlocks for a long time now, and I'd say in general that so many classes have been buffed lately that people have moved on. Personally, Hunters are the class that drives me nuts in PvP now-- they still have that very exploitable dead zone, but in a big melee, one Hunter can lay down DoTs and CC and turn the tide of battle. Plus, those NE Hunters in Tier armor just look so smug! A Warlock is still trouble, but my shadow Priest can fear and DoT, too, and no one's bothered by him. It's Hunters that really bug me.

While my current main is a Rogue, I have to admit that a Warlock is very nearly as much - if not more - fun to play.
I don't PVP at all, so my view might be somewhat different than many.

Is there anyone who enjoys having their face melted off? Even if the Warlock loses the fight their influence is felt well after their demise.

The thing I don't like with warlocks is that I can kill them on my hunter, but I end up dying from all those crazy DOTs.
As for hunters, I hope these problems you're having aren't in arenas, because if they are you need to learn to exploit LOS.

Warlocks are overpowered, they have been overpowered since the change to deathcoil.
They are not as overpowered as they use to be (for example in the 30% soul link time frame) They are still by far the most powerful class capable of dispatching every other class with ease except for perhaps BM hunters, maybe exceptionally played frost mages. The difference there is those 2 classes rely on cooldowns 41 points down a talent tree to win. A warlock doesn't need a cooldown to defeat the other classes. Deathcoil and healthstones are just extra luxuries.
Compare a warlock to a BM hunter. Is a BM hunter overpowered? Sure every 3 minutes for 18 seconds they are overpowered. Any other time they are pathetic in comparison. Just roll one on the PTR and see for yourself. A BM hunters dps is only decent when he is standing still NOT moving which he has to do since he cant shoot anything that gets close.
I have every class at lvl60 or higher except for a pally and a druid...and my younger brother plays a druid.
There are only 2 things unbalanced right now in my opinion. Warlocks and Druids with the Nordrassil 2 piece set bonus.
I believe that the warlock should be nerfed which would place the BM hunter as the most powerful 1on1 class (relying on a 41point cooldown) and the frost mage being the most powerful all around class (also relying on a 41point cooldown).

No, they're pretty much overpowered.
I saw a warlock solo the entire Kirin Var questline, up to the Lich boss. That's right, he solo'd Naberius. Sent his pet in, burned the guy down. Didn't even go below 75% health. Neither did the pet.
Combine that with the fear/death coil (ie an unbreakable fear that damages you) an assortment of DoTs that chew through health so fast it might as well be direct damage and almost as much health as a warrior so you can't kill them before they utterly annihilate you, and you have the definition of an OP class. They are, and they have been for quite some time.

Warlocks are working as intended. The other classes are not. Therein lies the problem.

No good life draining, felhunter having, fear spamming, death coiling, 14k hp having, life siphoning, healthstone popping, mana draining, magic resisting, dot stacking, shadow priest synergizing, life tapping, fel dominating, nightfall proccing, voidwalker saccing, OP POS.

As a Warrior, my least favorite class to run into is Warlock. Quickly followed by Shadow Priest. Ugh I hate 1v1 with them.

of course everyone still hates warlocks...read the pvp forums at all in the past few months?
how many other classes can do massive damage while simultaneously healing themselves?
I really don't care if they're nerfed...I'd just like ONE warlock to admit they have an advantage in most common pvp situations.

I have a Hunter and Lock and I can tell you in PVP I love me some lock action. As an AFF spec with the 3 piece Frozen Shadow Weave set I am dangerous in PVP. Instant cast Howl of Terror, Fear and then Death Coil and I never see the poor squishy mob that tried to kill me.

As someone who's on a PVE, why should I care that locks in a PVP setting are over powered?
I don't mean it as a totally snarky question either. Seriouly - I want to know? Why should my lock be nerfed just so you guys can win battle grounds more often?
