Breakfast topic: Freakiest in-game model

A week or so ago, my guild was preparing for a fight in Kara when one of our druids shifted out of bear form to put on his gear for cat DPS. This allowed me to see that something was horribly, horribly wrong with their weapon. It was moving and twitching in a way that brought back some bad memories of Anime Club in college. I asked in Vent, "What the *expletive deleted* is that thing? Did you steal it from Legends of the Overfiend or something?" The druid laughed and informed me that he was using Terestrian's Stranglestaff, which comes equipped with tentacles that are presumably used to strangle people. I was still creeped out.
Real of Haomarush-EU has a similar issue with the Stranglestaff, and asks the EU forums to name the freakiest thing in-game. Responses include:
- Weapons with eyes on them, like the Dark Edge of Insanity
- The spiders in Blade's Edge Mountains
- Extremely deep or bottomless water
- The dissected Abominations in the Undercity's Apothecarium
Aside from the Stranglestaff, there are two other models that bother me. I hate the way the Silithids move -- I'm allergic to bees and wasps, so they set off some kind of fear instinct -- and I hate the Dark Iron Dwarf models. WoW isn't exactly Silent Hill, so I'm not scared too often.
What do you think is the scariest item, monster or NPC in the game?

Terestrian's staff of Hentai Domination, every Japanese schoolgirl's worst nightmare.

Check out the staff that drops off Illidan, the Zhar'doom, Greatstaff of the Devourer. http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32374#M0z. It's a Felhound on a staff, and it moves and blinks and moves it's tentacle things a lot.

The Nerubis models all sort of creep me out visually, but aurally the Silithids win hands-down. The models aren't so bad, but the ambient sounds of any silithid area make me squirm, especially when I'm wearing headphones.

All spiders in the game creep me out, especially the ones on Bloodmyst Island. Those things scared me so much, especially as a little Draenei Warrior.

"It was moving and twitching in a way that brought back some bad memories of Anime Club in college." -- time for more details, methinks

Always fun seeing people in TK:Arc walk around the floor because they are scaried of heights.

The Fel Reaver in Hellfire, hands down. It was bugged for a while where it wouldn't make any sound as it sneaks up behind you, until it engages you in combat. If I had 2 gold for every time I heard "Vrrrrwwwwaaaaaa" and then got stepped on, i'd have my epic flying mount by now. The thing sounds like an evil, gigantic, mechanical murloc ... and that's just creepy.

I HATE Murlocks. Not because they creep me out, I just hate them. Every time I see them a Star Wars quote comes to mind -
"I can't abide those Jawas, disgusting creatures." -C3PO; Episode IV: A New Hope
I'd have to say the way you can just fall off of OL creeps me out, though. I'm not a big fan of heights at ALL! To be able to fall for ever, well that's just scarry to me.

Those huge slugs in the plaguelands, no contest.

I'm also a proud owner of a squidstaff and I delight in its freakyness.
One time I dueled annother druid in a stranglestaff battle. It was glorious.

The new Tier 6 hunter armor set, Gronnstalker, with eyes on the shoulders and the helm, is absolutely freaky http://www.wowhead.com/?screenshot=view&3.31006#29991.

Plaguelands.
I think I spent a whole hour there to get the flight paths and some herbing on the side.
Then I ground Timbermaw rep until I could go to Hellfire.

The Claw of the Watcher (http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/item-info.xml?i=27846) is also quite disturbingly awesome. Drops off Shirrak in Heroic AC. The eye blinks, and it drools :D~~~

we call that that "The Tickle Stick " in our guild

Deep water. Even without the fatigue bar, I still wouldn't go into deep water, it freaks me out.

1.) The new spiders in Bloodmyst and Blade's Edge Mts. are the creepiest things I've seen in the game. Especially the horrifying loud noises they make as I slaughter them just for being ugly (aka spiders). They're especially bad since in real life, I'm insanely scared by spiders.
2.) Not being in deep water, but the second I realized they were elite sharks in the water (go far into the water in either Ratchet, Theramore Docks, or Westfall)

I find the Silithid hives very squick-inducing. Some parts of the Plaguelands are pretty icky, but the story is so sad that my sympathy overrides my feelings of being grossed out, in most cases. The Silithid areas, though ... those twitching spines; that column of bugs ... blecch!

The deep water and it's sky counterpart the Twisting Nether freak me out in general. Call it a fear of open spaces that only seems to bug me in game. The water creepiness is probably due to rolling a NE druid as one of my first characters. All those washed up threshers don't make the sea look very inviting, not to mention murlocs, naga, and hydra(actually though I think the hydra are really cute!)
