First look inside the BlizzCon Exhibition Hall

The hall opened up not an hour ago, and BlizzCon is on! Here's your first look at what's inside the Exhibition Hall, including booths from all the exhibitors and vendors, lots of game playing (Starcraft II and the Arena tourneys are underway), and what we've most been waiting for: Wrath of the Lich King art. Pretty! Sorry, Arthas fanboys and girls, but the post above says we're going to meet the LK himself.
Browse through the hall (as I just did), and enjoy. The opening ceremony kicks off in a little over half an hour, and we should be liveblogging live from there as well. It's BlizzCon, baby!

I love that there is going to be a new expansion. I don't like that it will involve beating down (or attempting to) Arthas. I never wanted the game to kill Illidan, or several of the cool Lore figures. Wouldn't killing Arthas pretty much mean the end of WoW? Maybe that is a good note to end on, or it could create a new storyline for the introduction of new bad guys...It'll still be sad to see him killable.

Maybe I'm not up on my lore, but I thought Arthas *was* the Lich King? Didn't they merge together once he got to the Frozen Throne?

Please tell me Blizzard isn't changing the lore again to suit an expansion because someone didn't do their homework...

Considering Arthas is merely an agent of the Burning Legion, it makes sense for us to face him now. Also just because we're encountering him, it doesn't mean we'll be seeing the last of him (Kael-thas anyone?).

Sorry? Arthas is the Lich King.

The Scourge rebelled from the Legion in WarCraft III. T_T
Arthas/Ner'zhul is a free agent now. The Scourge acts on its own will.

Nah...we still have to get through Sargeras for us to be anywehere near the "end of WoW".

Basically, with TBC, the main storyline (meh, sorta) was The Burning Legion. With this one, it is going to be WAY more Scourge oriented.
That being said, the x-pac better not come out for a while IMO. There is still alot to be done in this current x-pac for alot of people. My guild is still working on Gruul and I'd really love to go to atleast TK before the new x-pac. I don't want a repeat of the original raids in WoW. Only got up to MC before the x-pac came out.

There's still all the business going down in the Emerald Dream to cover
It's not like the Lich King is the end of it all

Could someone please explain why beating the final "boss" of the RTS version of the game means that's all there is to see in the MMO version? As the Burning Crusade expansion proved, you can easily add new elements to Warcraft lore, such as the ethereal race. If you believe that the only raid bosses that are available are those that were in Warcraft 1-3, I think you are being incredibly unimaginative. What's to prevent a portal being opened up to an entirely new world, with its own races, dungeons, and yes, bosses? If the latest expansion ends with Arthas's death, the only thing that is over is any reliance the MMO has on the RTS for creative issues.
