WoW Moviewatch: Wrath of the Lich King

Fresh from Blizzard today, here's the trailer for Wrath of the Lich King. My first impressions? It looks surprisingly similar to old-world Azeroth -- which shouldn't be surprising, I guess, because it is in the same world, after all. "So come then, you heroes" is the new "You are not prepared." I can't wait to make a Death Knight.

I'm so happy to see it looking more like old-world Azeroth - Outland is cool and all but after a while it just hurts my eyes. The good old WoW environments are what I love.

Looks like a steaming pile of crap. Death Knights will attract every E-moron in the known universe. How can they not have implemented new races when they had so many candidates in Northrend?
Complete, utter bullshit. No doubt in my mind I'm quitting WoW completely for Warhammer now.

Cool vid, but I was hoping for a cinematic CG trailer not the in game graphics one. Maybe in a few months.

Blizz cheaped out, and gave us a crappy trailer. They didnt put in the effort for a proper cinematic. Dissapointed so far with everything I saw.

that is not the intro movie of the addon
the faq says:
"Will there be any new cinematic scenes?
Yes, our cinematics department is hard at work preparing a new intro movie for the expansion."

yea im not really impressed with the trailer. Nor anything that involves with Northrend.

I understand why they put in a hero class. I like that they finally did, they made a stupid choice, but at least they're finally implementing them.
It'll be like Blood Elves all over again. Every unwanted MMO player on the planet and their grandmother will be rolling a Death Knight. It's a community concern.

At least it looks like Death Knight's will be difficult to obtain; that should keep away 3 or 4 Night Elf hunters.
Otherwise, what a crappy, crappy cinematic. The script was cheesy, even by video game standards. And the scenery, while new, wasn't very captivating. Nothing like the terrain and sky of Hellfire Peninsula.
I know WoW is a cash-cow, but if you have to list "New Dances" as part of the cinematic, don't you think you should keep the expansion in R&D a but longer, and tell the Devs to come up with something a bit more compelling?

...seriously...how does one "roll" a Death Knight? Do you read anything before posting dumb things? You have to earn the right to even have one through questing. You don't just log into WOW and say, "Neat, I'm a newb and I can create a Death Knight." If you ask me. I think YOU are the unwanted MMO player based on how much you make my brain hurt. Go away.

First of all, Kevin is right. You have to OBTAIN THE RIGHT to make a Death Knight, you can't just create one. Also, DK's WON'T be main tanking, I can promise you that. For all you boohoo crybabies, go play Everquest!!

@3 Good riddance, if only we could get more people with your attitude to take off. Even if WoW lost 90% of its subscriber base it'd still be a viable game, with about as many servers as any other MMO.

I think they were just showing you that eventually you can obtain the right to become a Death Knight. You don't just turn into one, it was cinematic effect.
