although mages are considered the DPS kings, it was decided that they would more focus on the AOE damageGiven the high volume of reports on mage dps being worse than warlocks, rogues, and shadow priests, I find this statement odd. Do they mean they should be the "DPS kings" or that they are still considered the Kings? My personal experience is that we're not kings. I'm frequently out-dps'd by warriors and hunters, the hunters in similar gear and the warriors slightly better. Granted, I'm fairly new to raiding, but should a "king" really have to struggle against those not even in the big three (locks, mages, and rogues)? As for AoE dominance, I'm not terribly thrilled about this emphasis. It's useful in only a handful of boss fights (only one that I've encountered) and not really necessary for progressing past mobs. Unless boss's summoning non-elites becomes the normal, I'm not feeling too excited about AoE kingship.
