Attunement scrolls now granting free flasks

All we know about the quests so far is that Blizzard has promised to add extra steps onto them to reward the people who actually did them (we don't know what the rewards will be quite yet). But Boubouille at MMO Champion has a good line on what's up with the scrolls-- they still drop, but now instead of granting attunements, they grant flasks, usable in all the higher level raid instances.
The good news, as we heard at BlizzCon, is that Blizzard says they've learned their lesson from this fiasco, and attunements in upcoming patches and expansions will be a little less intensive (which is fine by me-- I'd rather difficulty keep people away from a dungeon rather than a super-long attunement questline). But if you've got any of these scrolls still around, feel free to use them for flasks. As a commenter says, it's a buy and use 25 flasks, get 5 free sale!

Yea... I'm really not that thrilled.
IMO blizzard made the hurdle to starting raids in BC way too high. My casual guild as well as many others are struggling to get started at all, especially after being forced to farm the "UBRS of BC" (Kara) in order to even have a chance at starting actual raid content.
I can't help but think that WoTLK is just going to be the same story for us more casual folks. Level to 80 relatively quickly and then basically sit on our hands for months on end while blizzard instead caters to the hardcore raiders. My guild made it to the first few bosses in AQ40 before BC came out and we felt good about it on a light schedule. I'm ok with not seeing Mt. Hyjal or the Black Temple before WoTLK. The problem I have is it's looking doubtful that I'll ever see the end of SSC at this point.

The expansion is a long ways away. I haven't seen Vashj or Kael yet (4/6 SSC 2/4 TK), but, I'm hopeful I'll be able to see them, and beyond in mere months.

Mike, afaik Blizzard never promised to add extra steps to those quests for rewards - they mentioned it as a possibility. That's a long cry from a promise though, especially with Blizzard.
Here's to hoping they will, though!

Unfortunately those marks are useless unless you're exhausted with just about every damn faction in the expansion, rendering them useless to everyone with a real life or multiple characters.

@1 QQ more about casuals not being able to raid Illidan. Ur casuals for a reason, you dont play much, so u cant expect to see the endgame content and u cant expect Blizz to cater to you more than hardcore raiders, since the hardcores will play for longer giving them Blizz more money than the casuals who will ony play for a shorter period of time. Hence you have to learn not to complain unless u want to start raiding.

You know, I was really proud of being an Alchemist and was looking forward to being a Master of Elixirs so I could make flasks for my guild. I even grinded my way to Exalted-Cenarion.
Sigh, not only did they nerf flasks, but they keep giving the damn things away for free. Thanks, Blizzard.

@4 they flasks they give you only work in SSC/TK/Mt.H/BT which by then you should be exalted with all major factions and if you arnt you probably dont have good enough gear to raid said places, and you would know this if u actually did the slightest bit of raiding/research

@5 It does not matter if i play 1 hour a week or 40. we still pay $15. blizz makes no more off hardcore raiders then the casuals. L2Math

@6&4
No is not every major faction in the game it is just exalted with CE, Shat and either aldor or scryer. So while not easy to obtain it is not impossible. I just hit exalted with all three this weekend. My only complain is that SSC mobs should give CE rep and mobs in the Eye should give Shat rep. That way raiders could do what they normally do and eventually they can hit exalted with CE and Shat. And not have to take time out from raiding to go farm rep in heroics. It just doesn't make sense that you kill a boss in the mechanar normal and you make the Shat'ar happy and then you go kill Al'ar and they don't give a f"รง&.
