PTR Notes: Updates for 8/16
Me again, keeping you up to date on the latest PTR changes. A new build went live today; what exciting surprises did it have in store for us? Well, not much, I'm afraid: a few bug fixes and some nerfs to the Tempest Keep dungeons. See for yourself:- Tempest Keep
- Arcatraz
- The Devastate cast by Unbound Devastators is now Physical damage.
- The recast time for the Defeaning Roar spell cast by Unbound Devastators has been increased on Heroic mode.
- Wrath-Scryer Soccothrates' Knock Away can no longer be dodged or parried. This will help prevent the catastrophic placement of multiple flames on top of each other.
- Harbinger Skyriss cast his Fear spell less often.
- Botanica
- The time between casting of Thorngrin the Tender's Hellfire has been increased.
- The time between casting of Thorngrin the Tender's Sacrifice has been increased in Heroic Mode.
- Thorngrin the Tender's Enrage ability now increases his melee damage by 75% instead of 110%.
- Mechanar
- The Arcane Servants summoned by Sunseeker Netherbinders are now properly classified as Arcane Elementals, deal less melee damage and have fewer hit points.
- The Eye
- Phoenix-Hawk Hatchlings now Wing Buffet less frequently.
- Crimson Hand Centurions now deal less damage with Arcane Flurry.
- Crimson Hand Battle Mages have had their Frost Attack damage reduced.
- User Interface
- The Hunter ability Kill Command no longer affects their current target.
- Warlocks can no longer get both Fel Stamina and Sacrifice Shield using a macro.
- World Environment
- If you get a positive reputation from combat you also get the corresponding opposite reputation reduction.
- Crypt Fiends around Azeroth and at Hyjal Summit are now more totem friendly.
- Fel Corruptors in Blade's Edge Mountain are now less potent.
- Bug Fixes
- Fixed problem where players could be disconnected by clicking on an item link in cross-server battlegrounds.
- Pets no longer follow enemies after being revived.

Let the dungeon nerfs continue.

Who?!

@4 the satyr boss in the botanica.
Eliah Hecht Aug 16th 2007 8:02PM
Er...I'm assuming they meant Thorngrin; fixed as such. Blizzard's typo, not mine :P
Julio Cesar Aug 16th 2007 8:39PM
They are just tuning wow for noobish and retarded players.
Vanterax Aug 16th 2007 8:41PM
Not just a typo... That mob is in Botanica. Look at the Botanica change.

It was a bug on the PTRs where Kill Command would also be used by the mob whenever you used it. So if you used it in a raid, your tank would get Kill Commanded, for example.

"The time between casting of Thorngrin the Tender's Sacrifice has been increased in Heroic Mode."
He was WAY too hard in Heroic, at least compared to the other Botannica bosses.

"Thorgrin the Tender's Enrage ability now increases his melee damage by 75% instead of 110%."
You have this listed under both Botanica and Mechanar. This boss is only in Botanica.

"If you get a positive reputation from combat you also get the corresponding opposite reputation reduction."
Well this sucks. Now how are people supposed to get Bloodsail rep AND keep their Booty Bay rep?
ben1778 Aug 17th 2007 9:53AM
@14 - Get the bloodsail rep up, get your pirate patterns and stuff, then go back and raise your steemwheedle cartel rep (booty bay). You aren't supposed to be able to have both factions at high levels at the same time.

@7 Since most of the changes in this patch are ones that end-game raiders and pro PvPers have been whining for, I hardly see how they are getting any more than they wanted. Be careful what you ask for, right?
Reading over the entire list, hardly anything for sub-Outland players has been changed/fixed. A couple "finally" items, like the level of certain mobs fiannly being adjusted to reflect the level of the quest, but most class fixes are for issues that don't yet affect the lower players.

"Crimson Hand Battle Mages have had their Frost Attack damage reduced."
So I no longer will get to see our tanks get one shotted when the shaman forgets to put down a grounding totem? Pity, it was hilarious!

Fel Corruptors in Blade's Edge Mountain are now LESS POTENT.
pwnd
but tbh don't think this 1 was necessary... thru they are annoying, but it's nothing compared to the birds in Skettis..
