Patch 2.2 on the PTR: New Violet Eye Recipes
.jpg)
New recipes have appeared on the test server with our Karazhan-related friends, the Archmages of Kirin Tor sect known as The Violet Eye. Some of these recipes are very nice indeed, including a high-end crafted leather chest for rogues and feral druids, a +20 agility enchant to weapons, a Flask recipe granting +35 to all resists & +18 to all stats and another high end leatherworking recipe, this time a cloak with a boatload of strength and melee crit stats.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Violet Eye faction, reputation is gained through the key quest for Karazhan as well as a quest within Karazhan and killing mobs in the 10-man raid zone. Reputation rewards they currently provide include the Violet Signet Rings (through a reputation gaining quest), the Iceguard frost-resist, plate recipes for blacksmiths, a crafted frost-resist ring and an Inscription granting +7 to all resists on a shoulder item.

As a leatherworker, and exalted with those stingy buggers, I'm excited to have some new patterns to call my own.
Unfortunately, the cloak is only really good for DPS Warriors and the chestguard only for ferals. I am happy to see a new feral tanking or dps piece, I'm just not sure how much I'll get to craft it.

I still think 4 nethers for that cloak is silly buggers.
aaronjay Aug 20th 2007 5:22PM
uh........WHERES ALL THE TAILORING PATTERNS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Evil M Aug 20th 2007 5:21PM
4 nethers is pretty ridiculous, esp. when you consider the Seargent's heavy cloak has the same, if not more, stamina and crit rating. Even with a Solid Star of Elune.
Zor Aug 20th 2007 5:27PM
umm they came out with Outlands
nerf tailors
RogueJedi86 Aug 20th 2007 5:44PM
You have to wonder why a faction composed of 5 people in Azeroth sells recipes that require items found only in Draenor/Outland. When did the people at the entrance of Karazhan go to Outland to create new cloaks and potions out of the stuff lying around the ground there?
Arch Aug 20th 2007 5:49PM
Actually, everything about this cloak is superior to the Sgts cloak.
More AP.
More Crit.
More Stam (gemmed with solid).
I hope its white and longer than most.

Str = not a rogue piece
Nataku Aug 20th 2007 5:52PM
WTF, still no tailoring patterns?!?!?
Freehugz Aug 20th 2007 6:16PM
... cuz the tailoring patterns aren't already amazing and easy to get?
Alerian Aug 20th 2007 10:19PM
The chest is only for Cat Form dps, not for tanking.
There are more than sufficient Tailoring recipes in the game.
Seamus Aug 20th 2007 6:29PM
Please be quiet about the tailoring patterns. You've got stuff that rivals T4 already, what more do you want?
Another flask recipe? Ho-hum. How long before this one is also available on vendors (for tokens) and daily quests?
Jetles Aug 20th 2007 7:03PM
were are the tailoring stuff?
Freehugz Aug 20th 2007 7:30PM
Arcanoweave Vestments
Battlecast Garb
Primal Mooncloth
Shadow's Embrace
Soulcloth Embrace
Spellstrike Infusion
Whitemend Wisdom
Wrath of Spellfire

That's a heck of a back item for an Arms warrior. To a lesser extent, a fury warrior could use it but the lack of hit would be a problem and the stamina would be less of a boon in raiding. I have to agree with the above poster who said that 4 Nethers is ridiculous. It's good, but come on, that's one less nether than it takes to go from Thunder to Deep Thunder, and it's not that huge.

how about a trinket that can be made by blacksmiths. thats what we need :) I know JC's make em but hey Alchems have a trinket they can make.
Karazhan Model Trinket (its like a little toy tower)
10 khorium bars, 10 hardened adamatite, 5 primal waters, 5 primal earths. maybe a primal might
300 Armor
30 frost resistance
23 defense rating
use: i dunno lol
Falmari Aug 21st 2007 1:05AM
@ 15 I'd pick up blacksmithing just to make that for my druid.
Grimtar Aug 20th 2007 10:18PM
That flask is pretty nice, especially for the price of its mats. Its like 2x Elixir of Mastery (with an extra 3 stat points) and 2x Magic Resistance Potion, that persists through death.
Considering that those Elixirs alone include 6 Terocone in the mats, that flask is really good value.
I guess Ill have to stop selling off my Dreaming Glory.

More feral LW patters, jesus. As a LW rogue, with the primalstrike set (NOT socketed, like the dragonscale set, which is again, for druids, I'm kinda fed up. QQ.
Morrigän Aug 21st 2007 8:03AM
@13: 0,40% drop rate for the patterns of most of the sets you mentioned. Wanna try?
