WoW Insider is looking for a few good bloggers!
That's right! We're looking to expand our staff here at WoW Insider by adding a few talented bloggers and an additional columnist. Getting paid to play isn't just a daydream -- though we will expect you to be able to alt-tab out for long enough to write for us. For bloggers, we're looking for people with a passion for the game and solid writing ability. We're accepting applications from all types of players, but right now we're particularly interested in adding writers with PvP experience or who play on the European realms. For columnists, we're wanting someone who can commit to writing articles weekly or bi-weekly on a specific topic. In the past, we've asked potential writers to pitch topics to us, but this time we're only interested in one column subject: PvP.
If this sounds like a good time to you, head over to our application page to get the full scoop on how to apply. We'll be accepting applications between now and Wednesday, August 22nd, at 11:59 PM EST. This isn't a lot of time, so if you're interested, get on it!

Someone from the European Realms would be fantastic! Come'on, there must be someone from the UK or from somewhere else with good English knowledge, ideas and good writing abilities!

I'm very interested in writing for WoWInsider. Although per the requirements I can only fulfill the 'player on european realms' one (I never played on PvP realms before).
To whom should I direct my questions with regard to the blogger part?
Thanks, and good luck for those vying for the position! :)

" we're particularly interested in adding writers with PvP experience"
Most everything on here is already geared towards PvP play.

Do you want these sample writings in the email itself or as an attachment?

Please, dear God, as a reader, stop with the obvious filler and repeat posts. No matter what your ad guys tell you, it's quality, not quantity, that counts.

If WowInsider could find a european player who was rank 12-14 pre-BC AND who has at least 2 high rated arena teams, that would be incredible. This way we can be sure they've had ample experience in both the BGs and arena, PLUS have a history of active PvP.
I wish you luck on your search!

Balasan -- If you have any specific questions you don't feel you can ask in the comments, you may send them to us via this form: http://www.wowinsider.com/contact/comments/
Erica -- In the month of August, we've made 10 PvP-related posts out of a total of 317 posts. That's about 3% of our total post volume. I do not think bringing on one writer with a specific interest in PvP will bring this to an overwhelming portion of our post count. Even if every single post one blogger made were about PvP (which I doubt), the subject wouldn't to jump above 10 or 12% of total post volume, so we're not going to make it anywhere near the majority of the site's coverage.
All -- we are not disregarding applications from people who don't play on EU realms or aren't PvPers, but we do feel that these are voices currently lacking on the site, and we're hoping to broaden our expertise in these areas. That said, this doesn't mean you don't have a chance of getting hired if you don't PvP or aren't from Europe.

I'd like to see a blog or a column on better role playing for those of us that have to put up with those that know nothing of it and wish to learn, and to help those that are seasoned get better. Just my two cents from someone that plays on the rp servers.

I like some of the original content that has been created lately, but I have to ask why you need to hire more help when I see so many posts that are just links to other blogs (LJ, big red kitty, et all)

@8: You know pvpers. Even if someone met all of those requirements, people would claim that he/she was full of it and didn't know what they were talking about.

Any idea when applicants will hear if they've been successful (or not, as the case may be)?

I also would like to know when applicants will be informed.
