More raid boss strat guides than you can throw a ret pally at

Raiding is a coordinated dance of precision, strategy and not having anyone go afk unannounced. Not that I have done that. Ever. No, really. Ok, that one time, but it's not like we couldn't recover from the wipe in time to try again, right?
Anyway, the first time you attempt a raid boss, it's great fun seeing what the event has in store for you. But after that first time, it's incredibly irritating to wipe out time and again. There are strat guides for boss kills here and there about the Internet, but I found one site that collects them all in one place.
For every raid target in the game, BossKillers.com presents strat guides three different ways: they have an extensive strat guide written for their site; they have links to other popular strat guides for that boss; and they also have links to kill movies for each boss. For their own guide, it covers each phase of the fight including diagrams showing player placement, class roles with notes for different specs and gear requirements along with recommended buffs and consumables. If you don't agree with the strat, check out the many others they link to. Still having a problem visualizing the fight? Click on the many movie links they offer.
So next time you get ready to raid, you'll have no excuse to be unprepared for the big fight. If no one went afk unannounced.

It's on the top 3 hits when you google the name of any wow boss and the word strategy...how is this wow insider news? Anyone who was on the internet looking for a strategy guide would have found this.

Why can't you people understand this?
TotalBiscuit Aug 21st 2007 2:37PM
Don't make assumptions that everyone knows about it. Don't criticize people for trying to inform.
I swear the audience of WoW Insider's becoming incredibly bitter and twisted these days.

If you ask non-hardcore players about boss strats they'll send you to wowwiki. Most people will stick to one site once they found one that has what they need.
Isn't there a site out there somewhere that we can send all the uptight elitists?

Wow, there's a lot of crappy strats on there. Just shows ya, the "accepted" way of doing some of these encounters is not always the "best" way.

your just now finding this... it has been a mainstay for raiding since BC hit. Some of the strats are messy and class breakdown is often screwy, ubt it gives a pretty good description of the bosses abilitys and the comon ways to down them. I've seen guilds try to do bosses strait off the sight and it works, but takes a ton of time, your better off to come up with the strat that works for your class makeup, and the people in your raid (some guilds have killer dpsers and suckin' healers, some have outstanding healers and suckin' dps, enough so that '5 healers' called for can be covered by 3 good ones, or 15 dps can beat a enrage counter, when strat calls for 18 ect.). that said, its required reading for going to a boss... takes 10 minutes tops to type the url, click on the boss and scan through picking up the key-points and abilitys, and knowing the basics of what your stepping into helps alot, espeachally in multi-stage fights.

News to me, and I'm a raid leader. Granted I wasn't raiding prior to Kara, so I'm a bit new to it. It's the assumption that "everyone knows" about these resources that mean no one talks about them to those of us who aren't in the know. I'm quite glad it was brought to my attention by WoWInsider, who knows how long it would have been before I ran into someone who didn't assume I just knew about it and said something. I'd always thought WoWWiki was the default for looking up bosses and strats, and direct to YouTube was where you went for videos.

I love the attitudes of some readers.
Look, they post this stuff for the folks who don't know it.
I had no idea it existed and I find it interesting.
Not everyone who reads this site is as ultra-extreme-super-cool as you.
One day I hope to be! IT WILL BE GLORIOUS!

@7 - Name one. You people need to realize, if you're going to make an accusation, back it up some evidence, otherwise your accusation is worth precisely.
ZERO.

@4 Applause for your comment sir/madam.
These idiots who do not know the difference between a blog and a news site are REALLY beginning to PIS . . . 'cause me undue irritation.
And their snide little comments add sooooo much to the site too.

Usually the links going to other sites are pretty solid, but the ones hosted on the site could use some help.

I've been using bosskillers for a while now. I don't think there's a single boss where we stick exactly to the strats posted, but I've always found them a good starting point. Certainly worth bringing to the attention of players who don't know abou it.

Well, I didn't know about it, and I appreciate the information. Thanks!
