Are you a recipe completist?

Players get different kinds of satisfaction from World of Warcraft. It's not just about leveling and equipment acquisition for everyone. There's role playing, exploring and crafting. And then there is the completist. Those that gain satisfaction from earning Exalted status in every faction or every piece of their class armor, even if they aren't the best for the slot.
Highlander of the Terenas server is a recipe completist. He wants every recipe in the game and one of his major hurtles is getting his hands on the ones only available to the opposite faction. So he created a list of cross faction recipes to obtain. He gives a run down on how to acquire the recipes and then recommends using the neutral Auction Houses to get it back to your main.
He notes there is one Horde recipe that an Alliance toon cannot have, Orcish War Leggings. So if you are a true completist, better roll up a Hordie.
What about you? Is there any kind of collection you're focused on completing?

I must say that I'm an armor set completist. I realized I just don't have enough time for ALL of the sets, so I've been ignoring the PVP sets and the faction sets (like the ones you get from Zul'Gurub), but I'm working on getting every single piece for the dungeon sets and the 6 tiers. In fact, on my 70 hunter I'm still going for a couple pieces of my tier 2 stuff. It's useless to me now, I know, but part of me is hoping for future player housing where I can walk into my house and see all of my armor sets on display.

Lawl. Become a JC. I pay 400g on a regular basis. FOR 30 GEM CUTS.

I never thought of this as a potential form of success when I wrote this(http://www.shadowwalkersguild.com/boards/showthread.php?t=3284) op ed, but I guess it works. I am mildly one, but not super anal about it.

Put it this way:
I've grinded mobs to get all of the 3 BoP blue Outland Engineering Recipes. (Felsteel Boomstick, Khorium Scope, and Hyper-Vision Goggles.) I've also purchased the blue BoE potion injector recipes and the blue BoE Ornate Khorium Rifle recipe. I even grinded CE and Consortium rep to get the Green Smoke Flare and Elemental Seaforium Charge recipes from those two respective factions. The only major Outland recipe that I've yet to obtain Attumen's Stabilized Eternium Scope from Kara.
So yea, I can call myself a junkie when it comes to engineering recipes, despite the fact that I haven't trained most of the lowbie Azeroth recipes and the MC recipes. (Sniper Scope, Force Reactive Disk, and that +ranged hit rating Scope come to mind.

A warrior in my guild had to move home from his dorm during the summer. At his parents house they only had dial-up internet which isn't well... anything friendly in WoW. So, he decided he was going to level up everything he could and fully maxed his skill rating in everything, except wands since warriors cannot use them. He also leveled up fishing, cooking, first-aid, engineering and mining to 375. Luckily, he just moved into his dorm so he can continue raiding. :)

hurm. i had cooking, fishing, mining and smithing maxxed the second week of TBC's release.
i was very much a recipe completist before TBC, but radically changed that behavior in TBC. now, i'm happy *NOT* to have epic smithing patterns because i'd rather not be constantly messaged about needing this or that item crafted and would i please just provide the nether for free, etc.
wish the price for JC patterns would come down, though -- and wish someone would put the major mageblood potion recipe in the AH. been looking for that for weeks now.

I was extremely proud that I had every single pattern in the game.
that was until 2.1 and the competition skyrocketed so it wasnt worth it to pay 200g or more for each pattern.
It was great while it lasted though. I got my epic flying mount money in one week with jewelcrafting.

I try to be a recipe completist, but there are limits to what I'll pay/invest time in.
