Time to play banish that game mechanic
Nathrezim of the Karazhan server posted this question today on the European WoW forums: what don't you want to see in WotLK? He threw in one limitation: no complaining about class balance or skills. Focus on quests/instances/mobs/mechanics. That being said, some interesting comments so far include: no caster swords as faction rewards; no long runs from graveyards; and, of course, no more of the universally hated oozes.
What game element do you hope will be left behind with the new expansion?

I like oozes - you can pickpocket some fun stuff from them!
YPEELS40 Aug 28th 2007 11:26AM

I agree, no more raids please. I'd like to enjoy the game and still have a life.

Hmm there are some things I dont want to meet again for sure. Those Skettis birds. Yes, those are really annoying. And those under-earth worms (like in dragonmaw caves). And btw, those oozes are cool, gief some with other ooze pets as well!!
Hmm...This is all I can think of. Oh, and ofc no more 10 minutes graveyard runnings! And no more *kill X to get spline/heart/eyes-with-crappy-loot-chance* quests either. Gief smart quests and long chains. And yes, ofc, what I hate the most, group quests. Very annoying if u want to continue the quest and cant find tanks/healers anywhere. Ruinning the pleasure to questing.
And dont bind transforming-items/potions/cool widgets you can use for quests to that location only, not cool and as far as theyr only for aesthetic changes to your toon, let them be usable everywhere, makes the game way more fun! PLease I really would apreciate to do this thing!!

Less Empasis on 25man raids, more on 10man ones. Sure have one or two uber hard 25man raids to keep that "hardcore raider" crowd happy but make most of the content 10 mans.

My favorite 'what don't you want to see' is this one that some guy posted:
" Hoofless zhevras, heartless raptors, featherless vultures, hornless Satyr, lions without blood, tongueless bears, headless murlocs, bandanaless defias who are wearing bandanas and Kolkar stormers."

I want to see some consistency in mob types. Nothing
worse that a pally mob that uses shadowbolts, healers with fireballs, or warlocks in SL that have a rague stun lock.
Also, some standardization of interrupts. As a hunter sometimes silence works and sometimes it hasto be scattershot. If a mage can counterspell a mob, Silence should work and if Kick works Scatter Shot should work.

Kill *just* the deadzone, not the melee range, just the deadzone. This is a game mechanic left over from beta days and its a mechanic that makes no sense on any level. I am refering to the area where we cannot melee and we cannot fire, no other class has such a zone...
Basically, either a hunter is shooting arrows, or a hunter is in melee.
Also, to back this, if you notice or pay attention to any range mob, the disengage from melee and move out of melee range into ranged distance. They don't have a deadzone.

Remove Hunters and create the proper class of Ranger which should have been in the game and I note doesn't have an OP pet who can solo any class without the help of it's master.
How would a huntard be stuck in a dead zone, you must suck a fat one if you can't wing clip, concussion shot, frost trap or freeze trap to get your range, oh forgot intimidation but I think that falls under the category of pets soloing anyone or anything.

Warlocks.

No more Pigs with different skins. We're lvl 70 soon to be 80 how tough can a pig get?

Get rid of creatures without creature types.
Also, reduce the amount of cloth needed to make a bolt. It's deeply frustrating to discover that a stack of Mageweave (or whatever) Cloth *might* make a single item.

Remove excessive rep grinds.
Excessive rep grinds are very demoralizing. Having to run Shattered Halls 10 times so I can get Revered to do Heroic Ramparts? Or at the least, make boe rep turn-in items that work up to Revered(maybe even exalted), to help the casuals on getting rep. They did it with the Ogre Beads for Kurenai/Maghar in Nagrand, working up to Exalted anyways, and it was very relieving. Just make them BOE like the Aldor/Scryer rep items.
Dipstick Aug 28th 2007 11:57AM
Rep grinding for keys (heroics). Just do quests that need to be done in an instance instead.
10pound Aug 28th 2007 11:58AM
No more mana draining creatures.
GAH! I couldn't even keep a straight face on that one.
Seriously, how about getting rid of beasts that can somehow drop a sword/wand/mace/helm/whatever?

Bunch of crybabies about raiding, if you don't want to raid, don't, but then understand that you will not get to see that portion of the content. There are still players out there (like me) that want to see this content and enjoy the raiding required to do so, and until that changes raiding will continue.
Whine whine whine.
As a side note, I'd like to know what happened to "fear will no longer be a major mechanic in Burning Crusade."
No longer a major mechanic my ass.

No new totems! Or at the very least, no new Air totems.
