Arena season 1 set to be purchasable with honor

Apparently, this was mentioned at BlizzCon, but even reading all the marvelous coverage of BlizzCon here at WoW Insider, I managed to miss it. Drysc tells us that "as arena sets fall off they would make their way to the honor system. So when a season 3 set is released, season 1 would fall off the arena vendors and onto the honor vendors, but this may not include weapons."So! Have you been hoarding up your honor points for that one great day when you'd be able to buy something epic with them? Are you prepared for hours and hours of hanging out in battlegrounds in order to get your desired set without having to do well in the arenas? If your answer to any of those questions is yes, you may be in luck. No official word on when Season three will come along however.

Great news! I know it might be a while but the first set of Arena gear is the best looking for many classes and I would much rather run AV/WSG/AB 24/7 than raid or do arenas.
IMO Arenas suck big time. Straight combat fights are sooo dull. Regardless of what folks say the AVs I have played have been 50/50 lately between horde and alliance because it's one zerg rush to the boss.

I Saved 35k+ Honor since I heard the news. I haven't seen Legacy after 10+ Kara runs. I most likely will not see it drop by 2.3, so I resorted to plan B. Save Honor Points for arena season 1 Decapitator 2H.
I will be ticked if they don't include the weapons. They have to give everybody a chance to gear especially the ones that have tried so many times for the piece there never gonna get. I commit to the entire Kara to just have a small chance to get. that woulkd just be stupid for blizzard not to include em. They will just keep the blue high warlord weapons up instead and have arena season 1 weapons disappear from the servers. That makes no sense! I will just assume Blizzard likes to please its customers and wait for my Decapitator from honor point vendor!

@2 - Why is BG gaming any less than raiding (not counting AFK)? It still take a lot of time to aquire the points to purchase gear. I think raiding is just too long to be viable. If an instance took 1-1.5 hrs then I would be interested. However, as it is I just can't play unterrupted for that long. Beside, why would you not want people to have decient gear?
Sure, they need to improve the honor system again but it is (IMO) the best part of level 70 wow.

I have been so happy about this ever since I heard the news.
I am one of the few people, though I know there are others, that hates arenas and loves battlegrounds. I don't know what it is, maybe that just killing doesn't appeal as much to me as killing with a seperate higher goal in mind (e.g. "OMG, this rogue is trying to kill me and I'm guarding the blacksmith, I must kill him to defend it). Or the fact that fighting alonside 1, 2, or 4 other people isn't as fun as fighting alongside 9, 14, or 39 other people.

Oh, and they better make the arena weapons available too. I don't know why they wouldn't.

I learned Early on, U will never see ur drop and don't bank on it. I ran SL 22+ times for Sonic Spear. I eventually gave up. 90% of all my 70 gear has been from BG or Arena.
Look at me I'm raiding Kara every week, for 1 item from 1 boss that has less than 33% chance of occuring (OZ opera). PVP players are also finer tuned and have faster reflexes. The non set Epics arer way better than any I seen drop in kara, I was able to pass everyone to the other Hunter.

if Season 1 is any indication, we won't see season 3 start till sometime around or after christmas.
they said they wanted 6 month (or so) seasons.
and they've not shown any reason why they would change it.
if the season is going to be shorter? they have to announce at the beginning of the season, otherwise players have the wrong expectation.

I will have to start doing BG's again. I much prefer them over Arena and I don't have the time or the inclination to raid.
I hope they include the weapons.
Didn't they say somewhere that Season 3 would probably be with 2.3?

@8 - S1 was not 6 months. A little over 4 months.
Season Start Dates:
Arena Season 1 - Feb 15, 2007
(duration ~17 weeks and 2 days)
Arena Season 2 - June 19th 2007
(guessing duration ~17 weeks and 2 days???)
Arena Season 3 - October 15th (guesstimated)
Now I don't think S3 is very likely to start 10/15 because its supposed to come out with 2.3 and 2.2 is not out yet. It might be a stretch to get 2.3 out by then even if 2.2 came out next week.

When I rolled a warrior, I played in BGs a bit when I had to for quests, but hated it. Now that I've got a BE pally I'm loving it, especially when I see my name at the top of the healing list. Unfortunately, I named my character 'Tardmo,' which doesn't exactly inspire confidence to the rest of the gang in Arathi Basin.

Arena season gear is supposed to keep pace with the raid gear so I don't expect to see Season 3 until the release of the Sunwell which sounds like patch 2.3 atm. With the voice chat testing slowing down the release of 2.2 it may be awhile before we start seeing anything from 2.3.

question? When have they ever purged Honor Points, Since the new honor system has been in place, they have never done this. Is this occurring on a per server basis, if at all?

Zul'aman is planned for 2.3, not sunwell.
