Around Azeroth: Ironforge in the distance
Ironforge is one of the first sights we see in the game's opening cinematic and if you play Alliance, the bustling city is your home outside of Outland. So why are we taking a second glance at such a common location? Well, common or not, the city itself, nestled back in the mountain, is an impressive sight, and it's not often enough that we get to see it from such a nice perspective -- courtesy of the Mage Cestunpiege on Dalvengyr, whom, I imagine, spent many hours climbing mountains and making slowfall jumps to get just the right perspective.
Do you have a unique shot of Azeroth or Outland that you'd like to show off to the rest of the world? Tell us about it by e-mailing aroundazeroth@gmail.com! Or perhaps you'd just like to see more of your pics from Around Azeroth.

"whom, I imagine, spent many hours climbing mountains and making slowfall jumps to get just the right perspective."
i'm sure you accidentally typed this instead of the more accurate "whom, I imagine, spent mere seconds hitting alt-z and zooming in on a flight from Stormwind to get just the right perspective."

Lol, you're probably right Nails, but I think the gryphon flies a bit lower... :/

There is a file you can modify to increase your max camera distance. It makes for nice screen shots.

If's not my home. Never has been. My hearthstone's been set to (and thanks to my engineering transporters, still is) Stormwind.

Definitely a modified config.wtf to allow you to zoom out, All he had to do to get this shot is stand in front of ironforge and pick the angle.

So what exactly does one do when "telling you about" a screenshot? Should we just email the file itself to that gmail address?

Most Alliance players dropped Ironforge for Stormwind like a dirty rag months ago.
What with Karazhan being so close and all for the most part anyway.

I was just gonna say, I like Stormwind much more lately, IF is a forgotten child in a mall these days...

One of the things I would really have liked to see, is IF opened up a bit more. There are all those towers and various windows that we don't have access too. Sure it looks cool, but imagine how cool it would be to explore them. To catch a view of the land from those upper most towers.
I've played Warcraft since the days of Orc & Humans, so the first time my level 13 ran up the winding ramp and was greeted with the entrance, I was enthralled. It was massive, impressive and made me literally say "Whoa!". I would like to see what else is inside the mountain of the dwarves.
