The joy of grinding
I've never cared for grinding, myself. I just can't do it. I'm easily distracted and I quickly get bored of repetitive tasks. (Don't ask me how I ever managed to kill enough Furbolg to pick up that +15 agiity enchant from the Timbermaw way back when -- I'm really not sure how I managed to kill that many of the same creature in a row without starting to tear out my hair.) However, some people relish in the grinding game, like our own BigRedKitty's friend TJ. BRK seems to have an ongoing challenge with TJ to complete some of the toughest grinds in the game. After conquoring the firefly pet they've moved on to the Wintersaber mount. I've got to say -- I tried that grind for about a day before moving on with my life. However, I have no doubt that TJ will rise to the challenge, because after picking up that firefly, this is nuthin'. What about all of you? Are you grinders who would find these challenges no problem -- or more like me, who wouldn't last seconds?

I'm thinking of doing the grind for the ooze pet in Unn'Goro Crater soon, maybe I'll get the mount too :]
I grinded last night in Nagrand for Clefthide Leather last night, I gave up after two hours and 19 pieces of the leather (and after accumulating almost 100 pieces of knothide leather scraps). I'm not very good at it, but I want a damn ooze pet!

I, in fact, grinded for two straight days for my firefly pet. I'm a companion fanatic.

My friend grinded more than 1500 mobs for the firefly and just gave up. Then a guildmate said "watch this" and got it in 10 kills. BURN

I love grinding! Im about to start grinding for my epic BS weapons :)
Im a miner, and people laugh at me when I say I like mining, and find it very peaceful. I will spend hours flying around Hellfire Pen. just mining Fel Iron. I love it.

"I'm easily distracted and I quickly get bored of repetitive tasks."
Oh the irony of it all!

I did the aldor/scryer grind. first I grind my aldro rep all the way to 1/2 through revered then i ground scryers all the way up to exalted so I could get all the JC patterns

I enjoy grinding...
My 62 priest is currently working on the firefly, one for herself, and then another as a gift.

I have grinding luck. I've gotten that rare green whelp twice, and each time I had only grinded for about two or three hours for both of them.

The wintersaber is the worst grind ever. Anyone who thinks it is even comparable to the firefly is deluding themselves. Yes, its that bad.

Heh. Speaking of grinding for pets, I was out in the wetlands trying to get red whelp scales or something. I did much of the killing as I could but when someone starts running around killing without skinning, well... snooze, you lose. :)
Anyway, turns out the fella was looking for the red whelp pet. ...which dropped for me no more than 10 minutes before. I let him kill a few more for me until I got all that I needed, healed him, and gave him the pet and went on my merry way.

I'm exalted with the Timbermaw, enough said.

compared to shen'drelar and ravenholdt, the winterspring grind is downright tranquil and easy.
towards the end, i had quest turnins down to 8 minute rotations -- 4:40 to ride back and forth, 3:20 to kill mobs (more if people were contesting the shaman.)

Oozeling pet - Done.
All the BoP world drop recipes in outlands - Done.
Bloodsail Buccaneers - Done (Booty Bay Guards don't spawn fast when you're solo)
Timbermaw - Done
All my heroic keys (theyre not really much of a rep farm I guess...)
I also have over 40 noncombat pets (I have Mr. Wiggles AND Speedy the Turtle).
My next mission is to get Mr. Pinchy, (once I get my fishing to 375, from 310 atm), get my Booty Bay Rep back up, then go for Firefly.

Grinding SUCKS. Especially motes, which it seems I do most of the time any more.

My Firefly took 795ish kills over 4 nights. I was so happy when it finally dropped!!!!!!
I'm not usually a big fan of grinds,(bought my way from friendly to exalted with Aldor :) ) but the Firefly was just too cool !
I love my Firefly, in a big burly Dwarf kinda way.

I just finished 3 days (about 11 hours) of almost constant grinding for , of all things, Honored rep with Sporegar so I could buy a shield (for mushrooms?).
Since I was playing an AOE-adin, it didn't take long and the rep was constant however I did find myself drifting off. For me, its boring if doing purely for XP but if I have a reward to look forward, it makes the mindless grind seem less so.

My mage is named River.
Every one of those 675+ Firefly kills was worth it.
(and it dropped on my birthday)

I've actually grinded out almost every level up to 50 on my warlock so far, save for having a lvl 70 run me through vc or stockades a few times just to help me clear some of the better quests out of my log.
It's not all that bad so long as you can watch tv while doing it.

I don't mind the grind as long as there's a target to aim for. I've ground/grinded? enough clefthoof leather for two complete druid sets (one for a guildy), I've got exhaulted with the Consortium grinding up on the heap, Aldor grinding in Deaths Door, and I'm currently grinding random mobs in BEM for the badge of tenacity. 2500+ kills and 8 other depleted items and no badge drop yet. Isn't all bad as I've made enough cash to buy two epic flying mounts with plenty left over :-)
