WoW Moviewatch: Chawana's Rocket Experiment
This is an epic tale of love lost and honor forgotten as two star crossed lovers pine for what they once had while -- I'm just kidding. It's five minutes and forty-five seconds of a L70 Orc blowing unsuspecting Alliance toons into next week with his Rocket Launcher. Over and over and over. To operatic power-metal.
Does it get any better than this? I think not.
Previously, on Moviewatch...
EDIT: Corrected the music genre. Consider my mind expanded.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess he's a little higher level than everyone he's attacking. One shotting people with 1,000 hit says they are in their low 20's, probably lower. How is that funny? It's annoying, for both sides. I'm all for PVP, I love PVP, but running around killing lowbies requires no skill, affords no benefit and is just a colossal waste of time. The type of people that enjoy this kind of thing, tend to be assholes, and ruin the game for everyone, on their side, and the other.
And they do it because it gets their stupid video posted on a website. Ridiculous.

@1 It's just funny cause he's using the terrible Goblin Rocket Launcher trinket to do it :D
Nails Aug 29th 2007 12:33PM
videos of actual gameplay like this are leaps and bounds better than the stupid machinima crap that is posted 4 out of 5 times
interesting how the rockets follow the terrain instead of point to point tracking like spells, etc.

Seriously. I don't like random pvp either, and a pve realm is fabulous for both of us.

lol the one at 0:45 is just plain awesome

@1 it's funny, not pvp. lvl20 vs lvl70 isn't pvp, it's to make the watcher of the video laugh. I'm pretty sure those allies have to run a whole 30 seconds to get from their GY to their corpse. boo hoo the maker of the movie must be an a-hole to make the person run for 30 more seconds.

Since when have Nightwish (operatic power-metal) and Disturbed (Nu-metal) ever been Deathmetal? :P I guess Dan doesn't listen to much of it himself. If it was Deathmetal, you'd know, trust me. For examples, listen to Nile, Vader, Origin etc, it's an 'acquired' taste.
TB.

Any video done with Nightwish's music makes me a happy monkey.

Let me see if I understand your point: if you are vastly higher level, use really big weapons and prey on folks who have absolutely no ability to defend themselves, then you should be congratulated and cheered as some sort of hero and your actions should be condoned.
Hmmm, in the real world this would be called being a bully, a thug, a menace. As a journalist, your attitude feeds those who blame video/online games for society's problems. And what does this say of blizzard who seems to condone this? Hmmm, were they they victims now turned into the abusers? Revenge of the geeks, the freaks and outcasts...
Don't get me wrong, I love playing on a PVP server, but I think there should be some equity/responsiblity when you take these actions. I would love to see a lowbie carry something that when killed by a such a person in this video would cause equal harm, like losing 95% stats for several hours including through death/logout. How much fun would it be then if you had to crawl back while being killed by noobs.

zomg! reported for rooftop 'sploiting!!1!11
lol..funny stuff. Silly pvp (or for some of you.."pvp" that's really bored 70s screwing around with lowbies) videos are much, much, much better than the year old machinima drivel that's usually posted.
wowtard Aug 29th 2007 1:12PM
Wow some major carebear meltdowns going on here.
BAWWWWWWWWW more please
Chawana Aug 29th 2007 1:28PM
I didn't expect it to be listed here, and thats not why i made it. to all those saying how bad it is to gank: it's a pvp server, they will get ganked a ton on their way to 70.
did you ever get ganked by an orc in a pink dress with a rocket launcher? No, i don't think so. It's a pvp server, and i didn't kill most of them mre then once unless they have a stupid name. I don't know how you can be self-righteous enough to say that when you, and the lowbies know that it is a pvp server.
Everyone In redridge had a 10 second corpse run. Get a sense of humor, that is the only thing this movie was made for.
Would you like to see me 1-shotting level 70's with my rocket launcher? can't happen, and i was making this movie one way or another.
And relating WoW ganking to real life bullying is foolish. The ganking has already happened, why not have fun watching something instead of only seeing the bad in it? I made this purely for fun, and I'm sure a few of the lowbies had fun also from some of the emotes i recieved.

I'd like to retitle this movie to: "The Reason I Don't Roll on PvP Servers Anymore."
Ganking, and being ganked are acceptable on PvP servers, we all know that. But really, if you're level 70 attacking people in a level 15-25 zone: it's not funny. You're definitely not the first person to think of this idea, and definitely not the first to record it and put it on the internet.
Only positive thing I can say is: at least someone is getting some use out of the rocket launcher.
warigami Aug 29th 2007 1:24PM
Although I always hate dealing with horde griefers like this (immature losers is all they are), I have to admit that some of the video was very funny. That launcher is pretty hilarious!
I actually don't blame the hordies anymore for doing things like this in lowbie areas (Redridge is almost unquestable now because of it); I blame Blizz for forcing alliance into contested zones much earlier than the horde does. Major lowbie ganking zones like Duskwood and RR shouldn't be contested areas in my opinion. However, like everyone always says, when your on a PvP server.....
Mel Aug 29th 2007 1:23PM
Oh, wow, applaud as just another brainless horde-jackass one-shots grays. *yawn* Is that supposed to be an accomplishment? Are we supposed to cheer for the lvl 70 fuckwad who beats on chars much, much lower than himself?
Sorry, I don't see any entertainment value.
Riptidez Aug 29th 2007 1:34PM
ha this is funny stuff, it reminds me of Q2 Rocket Arena...sorta :-)
Dylon Aug 29th 2007 2:27PM
This video is hilarious.... if only for the reaction of people seeing a giant cartoon like rocket launcher in their face right before it goes off.
I love the point blank rockets and the gnome jumping in the water.
For the people who say "WTF this isn't PVP", if a green orc in a pink dress with antlers ganked me with a rocket launcher... i would laugh so hard i'd fall out of my chair....
Chawana... feel free to gank me... i would appreciate it.
Mel Aug 29th 2007 1:38PM
Some people obviously excuse any shitty behaviour with "fun." Give me a break. The only reason for making this is so you can wank to watching that repeatedly and feel like a REALLY manly man.
You? Are pathetic.

Yeah, not sure what is special about a level 70 ganking lowbies in Wetlands and Redridge? Sorry I recognize those start zones. I have a couple 70s, and yes with my feral druid I can one shot mangle a 20, with my 70 priest I can one shot shadow word death a 20...but somehow I don't think that qualifies me as special enough for a movie.
Why you think it's special is beyond me. What is interesting is when a 70 goes to SMV or Netherstorm and tries that--and is met with a response.
Sorry WowInsider, lately your articles have been crap. I would initially suspect it was your newer staff writers lowering the bar, but some of your long standing authors have been part of it too.
