Around Azeroth: The pinnacle of racing technology
Zephic of Alea Iacta Est guild on Earthen Ring sends in this shot pointing out an interesting feature of the landscape along the Goblin racetrack out in Shimmering Flats. Though it's not entirely clear in the smaller image above, there seems to be a crashed Goblin racer adorning the otherwise pristine landscape. Not a good sign for the future of Goblin racing technology, I'd say...

you think that one is bad? You ought to see the crashed racer in Tanaris by Gadgetzan... now that's one out of control racer...

I've always hoped that they would come up with some way for us to participate in races ourselves. The Shimmering Flats raceway always seemed like a really cool place to have a bunch of people hanging out racing and comparing vehicles.

Perhaps this is related to the myth of the guy that strapped a jet engine to his Impala and was supposedly found 200 ft in the air against a mountain dead. Mythbusters busted the myth horribly though.

That's awesome, who else but blizzard would put a podracer in a video game, considering how crappy Star Wars Episode 1 was, all things considered. It almost, Almost looks like Sebulba's racer. Neat.

Actually, the racer in Shimmering Flats and the crash site in Tanaris are part of the same joke. It's a reference to Buckaroo Bonzai.
