WoW Moviewatch: I quit!
If you're going to quit the game, why do it with a boring video showing you disenchanting epic gear or deleting characters decked out in the game's best loot? At this point, practically everyone seems to make the same "I quit!" videos when they decide to leave the game behind. If you're going to quit, do it with a little panache, as seen in this 300-style "I quit" movie.

I fail to see how quitting WoW for a bunch of games that aren't actually out yet is going to help anything :P
TB.

I think the video was pretty dumb but I get the jist of what he is trying to say. I know I missed out on some really great games from my days of raiding and recently due to me playing more out of habit than enjoyment.

that was fking retarded.

That was stupid.

Really irrelevant homebrewed stuff. 0.5/10 for good movie score, rest of it is crap. The "deleting my toon" videos are better than a moronic halo3 ad.

Leaving WoW for... a PS3?
I pity the fool.

I actually enjoyed the vid. I'm impressed with anyone who would spend the time to make something like that, so all you trolls can scuttle back to the forums where you belong...
I've actually cancelled my account and don't plan to come back until the expansion comes out. I'm a casual player and enjoy lvling and seeing the new zones. With BC I think Blizzard really screwed over all those players that spent countless hours collecting epics just to be back in greenies again at lvl 62. It's gonna be the same with Litch King, so why bother imo.

Apples anyone? Maybe some oranges?

Azbaty,
How about you play the game for FUN? Clearly MMos aren't for you if you're leaving for a while because of a new Expansion. It's a game. Have fun with it.

This was pretty damn funny, and very well done. But the best part was the little "Those responsible have been sacked" Monty Python reference. It made me LOL :)
Hey, I've felt the same way, where you're in a raiding guild and you basically can't play any other games or even have ANY social life outside of WoW... or your guild will take you off the raiding roster and you'll lose everything you've been working for.
When you're in a top raiding guild you feel trapped. All of the really successful raiding guilds require 6-7-day-a-week attendance. If you don't, you get dumped for someone who will.
Things get pretty desperate, and you start saying things like "Fuck this shit". Epic reward loses any meaning to you because it's not a game any more, it's a full time job.
Quitting cold turkey and never going back begins to seem like a permanent vacation from one of the most stressful office-drama-packed full time unpaid jobs you've ever had.
I quit, and I've actually never played my hardcore raiding character since I quit the guild she was in. Too many bad memories associated with her.
The only people actually having fun playing WoW are the casuals. Raiders THINK they're having fun, but talk to them again in two months and ask them if they're still "happy with their progression".
Raiding is fun for the first month or so, then it's just 40+ hours per week trying to get past the latest cockblock and listening to your raid leader scream "-50 DKP!!!" at everybody for failing.
This has been going around, and I have to say, my raid leader was way worse than this guy. Check it out:

Hey, I still enjoy WoW, but I see where they are coming from. I laughed at the kick to the balls. HA!

Maybe it's just the fact that I'm still not tired of 300 jokes, but I found that to be Grade-A quality Awesome.
Junzim Aug 31st 2007 1:33PM
Meh, if you're not having fun you shouldn't be playing.
Sometimes it's not the game's fault, it's your attitude towards it. That said, almost all 300 parodies are good times.
When I was raiding hardcore, the game stopped being fun for me, I put a stop to that and now it is :)
I don't do all my dailies every day or raid every other day. I play when I want, how I want. WoW is a great game, arguing it 'sucks' is kind of pointless because like all good MMOs, the game is what you make of it.

Dumb video, but I'm onboard with leaving WoW. I just canceled the subscription. My acct expires on 9/17 and I am OUT OF THERE!!
What will I do with my time you wonder? (or maybe you don't)

Oh, no hard feelings against WoW or Blizz, I'm just burned out.

@12 You've never heard of a casual raiding guild have you? I'm in a raiding guild. We raid 2, sometimes 3 days a week. Max. We started raiding in May. Kara is now on casual farm. Gruul has been cleared for over a month. Starting on Mag, VR etc. This in spite of our MT and raid leader quitting due to RL pressures halfway. We have fun. We don't have suicide kings , dkp or any of that BS. We need roll. That's it.
Legion on Emerald Dream-US - look us up.. The guild first boss kills are a ton of fun. We may down Illidan before WotLK, we may not , but we progress well, we work professionally, we're raiders and we're still having fun. Just because you chose to turn your raiding experience into a 6 day a week full time unpaid for job experience doesn't mean everyone else does. Not every raider defines their happiness and enjoyment with ONLY their progression as a yardstick.
"The only people actually having fun playing WoW are the casuals." - Way to generalize.
Sorry but plenty of raiders have the maturity to enjoy the endgame progression without letting the endgame progression DEFINE their lives. Your bad luck you weren't one of them.

I lasted about 2 1/2 months on WoW before I got sick of it. Didn't make a goddamn video of it though >_>
Coherent Aug 31st 2007 2:53PM
@18: Actually, "casual raiding guilds" are still casual (and presumably having fun). I wasn't saying that ALL RAIDING IS EVIL, I was mostly saying HIGH END RAIDING IS EVIL.
Check out the raids on wowjutsu.com, see the little markers "MH" and "BT"? If you ever want to see that location, that content while it's relevant, you have to dedicate your life to your guild.
I didn't say I quit the game, by the way. I quit the guild, and I did leave the game for a while. But then I came back - as a casual player.
