WoW Moviewatch: How to beat a warlock
As we all know, warlocks are just so OP, it's very hard to beat one in a one-on-one PvP situation. Thankfully, however, Makale has discovered their secret weak spots, and is willing to share them with the world. The introduction in this video is a bit slow, but once you get to the meat of it, there's no denying that these tips are the best you can get.

That was amazing, one of the funniest videos I've seen in a long time.

The problem isn't really that warlocks are overpowered, but it does depend on the situation.
Example 1: Several times while questing in Searing Gorge (me being lvl 50 at this time), there was a lvl 45 shaman that would follow me around stealthed, and wait until I got into a fight with multiple mobs at once, usually 3 or more at a time, then sneak up behind me and start attacking. If I have to take my focus away from the mobs to fight him, then they are wailing on me... and those dark iron dwarves hit pretty darn hard if you let em do it for long enough.
In another related matter in the same location, I went afk at one point, and came back to find a Tauren warrior just standing in front of me making rude gestures. I /rasp back at him, and all of a sudden a rogue (2 levels below me I might add) saps/1-shots me from behind.
In retrospect, I later went hunting for these same two guys by myself, and attacked them when they were both in mid-fight with other creatures. Their odds for survival were slim from the beginning, since I got fear off first, and saved my death coil for the first one to break fear and try charging at me.
It's really a matter of skill. I've taken down people 10-20 levels above me before, it's all about your skill, talents, and gear, and the scenario.
In my observations, warlocks will win most of the time if they are the ones starting the battle. Attack one unexpectedly, and use a stun effect of some sort, and we're pretty much defenseless, cloth wearing attack dummies.
In fact, without fear (and other similar methods of CC), we'd be ridiculously underpowered.

I absolutely love number 3... lmao...
Shady Sep 3rd 2007 2:01PM
@4 Lol, yea, I hate those stealthing shammies myself. One moment you're tossing dwarves around, the next *BAM* a cow comes out of stealth and pew pews away with dual swords. It's out of control.
skakillers Sep 3rd 2007 2:18PM
you think shammys in stealth are bad? how about those stealthed warriors sneaking up behind me and then blasting away with their epic sword wand combos, racking up combo points and then pulling a 5,000 crit shadowbolt?
yeah, those ones are baad.

Its simple, fire some of the WOW Game devs and bring back the original staff.
The new WOW game devs made what Warlocks are today a complete class. While they neglected other classes.
Midnight_Eyes Sep 4th 2007 1:36PM
Previous to BC warlocks were such an underplayed class so knowledge of them to most players isnt very depthy, so the ignorant "OMG warlock beat me he's so OP" comes into play, spamstring, stunlock, and plenty of other abilities make warlocks easy mode, oh did I mention we wear cloth?
PS: to the video creator, nice crafted epics and S2 shoulders you tool.

"The new WOW game devs made what Warlocks are today a complete class. While they neglected other classes."
My main is a warlock, and that's the kind of solution I like to hear. Don't nerf warlocks, buff the other classes in ways that even their odds against locks.
The problem warlocks have is that we're arguably the strongest pvp class, except in 5v5 where we're one of the weakest and least represented. We're the first to be 5-man focus-fired, and we have little defense against that except to stack as much Stam and Res as possible and hope our healer/s can heal us through it. Even the mighty and famous Tiz is leveling up a Frost Mage to potentially replace his lock on his 5v5 team.
But when a lock geared to survive the concentrated fire of 5 other heavily geared players goes up against 1 other or 2 or 3 other players, they're going to have a damn near impossible time taking him out, hence the cries of 'OP! Nerf!' from everyone who ecounters such warlocks in world pvp, bg's, or 2v2/3v3.
Bliz said at the PvP session at Blizzcon a few weeks ago that their challenge with warlocks is to balance the class in such a way that it evens things out in 2v2 and 3v3, but doesn't nerf locks or make them even less desirable in 5v5. But how exactly can do that? Every suggestion I've heard either makes an already survivable class even more so (limited duration immunity like Ice Block or bubble), or introduces a nerf that's too harsh for 5v5 and not enough for 2v2/3v3.
So I really think the best option for Bliz is to do what GamerJunkie says - buff the other classes in ways that make them more viable against warlocks.

Great Video
'locks are simple to kill for a MM Hunter - silence shot - burst damage - if your feared - good - great way to get a ranged aimed shot in - dead 'lock three out of every four times (& believe me its all spec - not gear or skills -I got neither). {do not try this as a non MM Hunter - silenceing shots the key}
- of course the dots kill you too - 'still working on that part :)

Hey guys / gals!
Nice to see that you enjoy my movie, btw you spelt my name wrong, it's MIKALE :P not makale :)
actually It's Deathkale now after I migrated.
oh and @Midnight_Eyes: I've been playing warlock since april 2005, and I do not think they're OP now. This movie is just for a laugh. and about the gear, I'm not very hard core, i crafted the shadoweave and decided to go for pvp gear.

@17 "depthy"
Are you serious? Is your last name Bush?

Great video. It was hilarious. I think that was the main point of this post, not to involve an actual "Lock Debate."
