Forum Post of The Day: Five reasons to roll
Player Magdar of Grim Batol server was interested in rolling a druid and asked for five reasons to do so. Players responses ranged from practical (versatility, survivability, instant cast flight form) to hilarious (more dance emotes than any other class). Even CM Tharfor got in on the fun with his list:1) You get claws.
2) You get to be a bear.
3) You get to be a bear with huge claws.
4)You get to rip things to pieces as a bear with huge claws.
5) Apparently they make good healers when they are not being bears... (but I wouldn't know anything about that!)
But it got me thinking. With many players having seen most of TBC with their mains, there's probably a lot of alt creation going on right now. So tell us, what are the five reasons someone should roll your favorite class?

Drain Sep 4th 2007 4:20PM
Does "most of TBC" not include SSC, TK, Hyjal and Black Temple? If that's the case then sure, most players have seen it all.

Reroll a hunter because:
1) You can name them Legolas, Legolass, Leggolas, Leggomylegolas, etc, etc.
2) We can train pets. Even if they hate us, they still are stuck by our side.
3) We pretend to die while everyone else really does.
4) AFK Auto-shot (brb soda kthx)
5) Misdirecting shot. Someone pissing you off in an instance?

My main is a 70 NE Balance Druid. I love her. By far my favorite of all I've created. And to think I rolled her specifically cause I wanted to be able to change into a cute animal!!
1. Even as balance the cat stealth rocks, you can get by mobs and not have to fight.
2. Travel form and flight form before everyone else. You quickly learn walking sucks.
3. Aquatic form, that extra speed & not having to use breathing pots is amazing.
4. Versatility. In one toon you basically have a warrior, preist, rogue, mage, etc.
5. And so many other things!!!!
Freehugz Sep 4th 2007 4:47PM
How can you mention balance druids without mentioning the moonkin dance!?!?!
DonJuanito Sep 4th 2007 5:05PM
Reroll mage because
1. free food/water
2. ports = bounce from one end of the world to the other
3. fire mage = complete mob pwnage
4. frost mage = complete PvP pwnage
5. AoE = power lvling/farming
(6. Mages = master QQers = active forum posting life)
Mage FTW

Rogue
1. Stealth
2. Getting Stabby
3. Stealthing to somebody to get Stabby
4. Poisoning somebody with your Stabbyness
5. Vanishing and doing it all again

Roll a Paladin because:
1. AOE tankgrinding at 35. It's the most fun you can have while wearing your armor.
2. Bubbles + heal for to be the most frustrating PVP target ever.
3. Making a Hammer of Justice "/p Stop! Hammertime!" macro.
4. Best land mounts in the game and relatively cheap, too. Also, crusader aura.
5. Getting most of your mana back from a crit heal is just awesome.
Zarky Sep 4th 2007 5:20PM
Here kitty kitty kitty
Gror Sep 4th 2007 5:28PM
Roll a Warrior because:
Um uh, thats right Blizzard Warriors are usless now!! Fix the damn class!!!!
Serenatias Sep 4th 2007 5:36PM
You forgot to mention that if you're horde, you get to have a bear with freaking horns.
I still maintain that that should have an extra threat modifier associated with it.
Trevin Ward Sep 4th 2007 5:36PM
In the style of our friendly blizzard CM.
Reasons to reroll mage.
1. You can set things on fire.
2. After you set things on fire you can freeze them.
3. After you set things on fire and freeze them you can turn them into a cute little animal that no oen would be afraid of.
4. You can turn a big nasty orc into a burning frozen cute little animal that no one is afraid of.
5. You can be dropped by that orc after he's done being burned, forzen and polymorphed into humiliation faster then a priest who's out of mana (assuming all the burning freezing didn't kill him because polymorph just undid all that)
Nathan Sep 4th 2007 6:12PM
Priest:
1) Always room in a 5-man for you
2) From 1-60 you can pretend to be a mage
3) Surprisingly good PvP versatility, especially 1v1.
4) Never have to spam "LF Healer and gtg"
5) Glowy shadow death!
Interested in healing? Then Reroll a priest because:
1) You hate yourself
2) You don't hate other people enough yet
3) You get to meet lots of new people
4) Who you will learn to hate
5) People who have never played a priest in their life will be willing to give you lots of advice on how to play your class.
Juliah Sep 4th 2007 6:15PM
Mage!
1) You're never out of water. Having leveled a priest, I can tell you that this is an amazingly wonderful thing.
2) You can obliterate things with fiery nukes of burnination!
3) Some of the mightiest creatures in the land can be turned into cute, fluffy sheep at your command!
4) Bag space: you can do damage without running out of arrows or having them clutter your packs in the first place. No pet food taking up space, either. But you can run out of mana you say? No problem! Evocation!
5) Portals! Easy access to capital cities for you and your friends!
Green Sep 4th 2007 6:31PM
Roll a Shaman because..
1) You can make things explode with your brain.
2) You can make things freeze with your brain. (Icey blood hurts!)
3) You can electrocute things with your brain.
4) You can still brawl despite how cool your brain is.
5) Who gives a crap that no one understands your class, and don't want you for parties? You're tough enough to do it yourself. Just you and the Elements, against the world.
Shamans: Making nature kick it's own ass.
Charlie Sep 4th 2007 7:26PM
Mage
1) Free Water? Yes please
2) 6 Hearthstones =D
3) Cause you know those mages in instances w/ Cryolysis make you laugh w/ their sheep emotes
4) Top DPS in Raids (depending on fight, #2 against warlocks sometimes)
5) 6 Hearthstones! 6!
We have no survivability though. So be prepared to die alot. =(
Manuel Solis Sep 4th 2007 8:27PM
GUNS!
PETS!
HUNTER'S MARK!
GUNS!
Hugh "Nomad" Hancock Sep 4th 2007 8:01PM
OK, loads of people are going to do Hunters, so I won't do that.
Roll a Prot Warrior. Yes, really. Because:
1) You can tank without having to spend three hours staring at a bear's ass.
2) You'll never be without group invites. Whether you want them or not.
3) You can really, really piss DPS classes off.
Prot Warrior: *Bimbles through Stranglethorn*
Rogue: *UnstealthYaaarghGougestabbystabbydpsdpsuberuber*
Prot Warrior: *At 93% health*
Rogue: WTF? Is this thing on? *YaarrggghhhbackstabbackstabcombopointscombopointsFinishingMove*
Rogue: Pant, wheeze.
Prot Warrior: Ow! I'm at nearly 70% health! *Stun*
Rogue: Insignia of the Alliance! Haha!
Prot Warrior: *Another Stun* *Bandage* *Demoralising Shout* *99% health*
Rogue: Oh, god.
Announcer: Snickers. For when you're going to be here for a while.
4) You can do that without having to level a Paladin. Let's face it, that's an upside.
5) You're a plate-wearing class WITHOUT any healing abilities. Think that's a downside? Ask a Ret Paladin what he gets asked to do in instances.
RW Sep 5th 2007 4:08AM
Cutting the list of reasons to roll a druid down to five is pretty hard.
1) Going into sea lion form and farming stranglekelp to go over 100 gold before you even hit level 20
2) Blasting HoTs on yourself, going in and out of bear form, and downing mobs 6-7 levels higher than you.
3) The ability to stealh, do melee DPS, tank, heal and pump out ranged DPS, all in one package
4) The ultimate escape artist - nature's grasp, to cheetah form for the clean getaway
5) Wrath of the thunderchicken! Much love for the Moonkin.
