Chinese player goes 60-70 in 23 hours

Think about that for a sec. When it was released here, the fastest leveler we saw took 28 hours, and he had the backing of a whole guild. Unfortunately, we don't have any other info about SilverDragon (gear? technique?), or any other confirmation that it actually happened, save for the "timestamped" screenshots posted on the goldseller's blog above. But if it is true, that is a crazy little chunk of leveling. Think we'll see an even quicker record to level 80?
Update: As commenter Andy notes, the top screen seems to show a Warlock. Except that Trolls can't be Warlocks, buddy. But he's right to be suspicious-- this may not be true.
Update2: OK, I think we've solved it (and can I just say I love how you can watch a train of thought slowly progress through any internet comment thread?). The shots are actually from different players, because they're targeting the same Hunter. And the reason the Troll looks different in the first shot is because that's the default Troll look-- whoever is targeting him is out of range, and in the second picture, they are not (which is probably why they have the Trueshot aura). Considering that there are also shots of him at 70 in the /who window, I'm going to call this confirmed. Congrats to SilverDragon for hitting 70 so quickly-- now he should probably go back and actually play the game.

Don't believe it, could be two separate screens.
Andy Dobson Sep 7th 2007 4:07PM
Haha what an idiot.
If you look at the top screen it is of a warlock because it has fel armor and paranoia buffs.
The screen on the bottom is a hunter.
Not the same charatcer, therefore not true.

I think its very possible. The guild that helped the 28 hour guy went in with very little knowledge of what laid ahead. This individual has had a good deal of time and information flowing in over the past 6 months to work out a game plan.
Dave Sep 7th 2007 4:12PM
seems to have also figured out how to change your class midway too.
I call bullshit. Looks like a PTR type screenshot job, or total BS.

Even if it were true, i imagine it would be a lot easier for someone to do this now months after the world first.
All quest strategies and coordinates are all known now. They're vast resouces on the Internet with all kinds of information a power leveler would benefit from.
Arras Sep 7th 2007 4:16PM
@2 - you're partially right - it's either demon armor or demon skin. You get Fel Armor in mid-60s and the icon is green
But yeah, overall you're right - warlock on top, hunter on the bottom. I'm just being nit picky :P
Kaljin Sep 7th 2007 4:17PM
Its bogus. In China, you can only play for 5 hours a day. After that, you get some pig game penalties.
Arras Sep 7th 2007 4:20PM
Also, in the bottom screen, what's the first buff on the left? The bluish one..isn't that a druid form (bear?). The middle buff is trueshot, which could mean she/he is in a party with a hunter with trueshot on and then there's the mark of the wild buff.
So, apparently...Chinese WoW gamers can have troll hunter-warlocks that get druid shapeshift forms at level 70.
Yeah..that's some good fact-checking there, duder.
Kaljin Sep 7th 2007 4:21PM
Oh, and hes a druid on the bottom, not a hunter.

Changed class *and* appearance - hair color, hair style, tusks, and skin tone. Looks like someone has WotLK already.
Justo Sep 7th 2007 4:23PM
trolls cant even BE warlocks, so the top part of the screenshot is completely bullshit. and i dunno about the "only able to play for 5 hours" thing, although i wouldnt put it past the goofy and ridiculous Chinese government.
Arras Sep 7th 2007 4:23PM
It also appears you can change your hair color at level 70 in China too
Top green mowhawk, bottom orange...mop top?
Joe Sep 7th 2007 4:24PM
Honestly who cares period. It's just like the other guy who blew through the content to rush to 70. I guess if you don't care about any of the story or enjoying the game, then sure why not.
Personally I'd rather take my time and enjoy the game but, if it strokes someone's e-peen to be one of the 1st or the 1st to hit 70, them w/e. Gratz I guess. o.0
Dracula Jones Sep 7th 2007 4:24PM
Also, you know, not to be totally obvious, but those are two different character portraits, too. Look at the tusks.
Mak Sep 7th 2007 4:26PM
Come on, it's pretty obvious that's the target frame. It's two different players targeting the hunter. In the bottom screen the hunter is targeting some blood elf from the looks of it.
Has it been that long since you've used the default unit frames that you don't remember the player frame is portrait left, bars right while the target is the opposite?
Mike Schramm Sep 7th 2007 4:27PM
I thought the tusks just looked different because of the helmet. But yeah, either way, these pictures mean nothing at all.
Thijs Sep 7th 2007 4:28PM
lol dudes,
at the first frame he has the paranoia buff from warlocks... you don't have to be a warlock to have it... and after that he just has the buff from feral druids... but nonetheless... the tusks are diffrent!
Mak Sep 7th 2007 4:30PM
Also - For those who don't remember ...
When you are out of range of a player for the first time this game session and you target him, it shows with a generic placeholder picture. In other words, that first picture isn't him, it's the blizzard generic portrait until they get close enough to see him.
Tes Sep 7th 2007 4:31PM
i think the person taking the screen shots has the hunter targeted, it's not the actual hunter taking them
Arras Sep 7th 2007 4:30PM
yeah, paranoia buff is a group buff, but the other (demon skin/armor) isn't - it's warlock self-only buff
