Chinese player goes 60-70 in 23 hours

Think about that for a sec. When it was released here, the fastest leveler we saw took 28 hours, and he had the backing of a whole guild. Unfortunately, we don't have any other info about SilverDragon (gear? technique?), or any other confirmation that it actually happened, save for the "timestamped" screenshots posted on the goldseller's blog above. But if it is true, that is a crazy little chunk of leveling. Think we'll see an even quicker record to level 80?
Update: As commenter Andy notes, the top screen seems to show a Warlock. Except that Trolls can't be Warlocks, buddy. But he's right to be suspicious-- this may not be true.
Update2: OK, I think we've solved it (and can I just say I love how you can watch a train of thought slowly progress through any internet comment thread?). The shots are actually from different players, because they're targeting the same Hunter. And the reason the Troll looks different in the first shot is because that's the default Troll look-- whoever is targeting him is out of range, and in the second picture, they are not (which is probably why they have the Trueshot aura). Considering that there are also shots of him at 70 in the /who window, I'm going to call this confirmed. Congrats to SilverDragon for hitting 70 so quickly-- now he should probably go back and actually play the game.

Exactly what I was thinking, 15. He looks different in the 60 screen because that's the default troll picture when you're nowhere near them. And the clearly different classes in each picture are because there are different classes TARGETING the hunter.

Taiwan Armory: http://armory.wowtaiwan.com.tw/guild-info.xml?r=%E6%88%B0%E6%AD%8C&n=GreenBase&p=1
Shows three level 70s. But it's an Alliance guild, not Horde.

A few things. #2 - The buffs the lower portrait has are given by hunter to others, not just to themselves. The one AP buff could be from a hunter in the group. The right one is GotW right? A hunter did not give that to himself. He has no hunter self-buffs on. There is not enough information to confirm your statements here unless I am missing something.
And someone else said two different character portraits. If I remember right it changes when you hit 70, the same as it does on the WoW forums.

Wow.
It's obviously other players taking the screenshots who have HIM targeted. He is not the one taking these screenshots from a first person point of view.
As also stated by the smarter people above, the first screenshot is the placeholder because he is simply out of range to 'generate' the graphic for his real gear.

The gold sellers thank you for the free publicity. This is the kind of articles that make me visit this site less everyday.

Doesnt necesarily have to be a lock. Ive seen other buffs with that same Fel Armor and Paranoia avatars. And he has demon-tracking on in the top picture. Proving he is a hunter. And for the time limit Kalijin mentioned, that is only in certain districts, not all of China. These screenshots do not prove he is lying, or disprove anything either.

Not a big deal even if it's true. I went from 60-70 when the expansion hit by myself and was the first on my server. I clocked it at 53 hours (just over 39 hours play time). Still got plenty of sleep, and the closest person behind me was level 67 (on either faction side).
As people have pointed out, the screens are obviously a crock, although I do believe that it's possible to do. Maybe it's trying to point out that warlocks and hunters are both OP'd.... HMMM
jcgooch Sep 7th 2007 4:51PM
It doesn't prove he's a hunter. Warlocks have the demon-tracking ability.
Freehugz Sep 7th 2007 5:33PM
I love how dumb people can be. Do you really think that's his portrait on the left? Think about it for a second, how tall would that make his screen? That would be unplayable!
Hide Sep 7th 2007 6:24PM
The bigger Q is, why would his guild decide to PL a hunter first?
Mephator Sep 7th 2007 7:05PM
How is this possible when Chinese players get massive XP hits when playing for more than four or five hours to the point where XP stops rolling in altogether?
Theserene Sep 8th 2007 9:50AM
No date stamps on those pictures so we only have their word that the times are not about a week apart.
Kaylek Sep 8th 2007 11:53AM
"now he should probably go back and actually play the game."
Hey, no reason to be sore or jealous.
Cersei Sep 10th 2007 8:03AM
@27 & 28
the demon-tracking icon on the top pic is a warlocks. The hunter's demon-tracking is a totally different looking icon.
