Make Love, Not Warcraft wins Emmy
The South Park WoW episode: "Make Love, Not Warcraft" won the Creative Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming Less Than One Hour). Though the Primetime Emmys will not take place until Sunday, September 16th, the Creative Arts Emmys were awarded yesterday, September 8th at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA.
South Park beat out episodes from The Simpsons, Avatar, Robot Chicken and SpongeBob SquarePants for the award.
This episode is on the 10th season DVD which recently came out and don't forget you can get a discount just for typing in the code WARCRAFT if you order it from Comedy Central.
This isn't the first Emmy that South Park has won, but perhaps this kind of attention will get WoW more positive (or at least humorous) attention in other television shows. Though, when it comes to TV ratings, 9 million people worldwide does not a target audience make. For example, American Idol was considered slipping when it only had 30 million US viewers for an episode.
Would you like to see WoW references appear more often on TV? Or are you too busy playing to care?

I honestly thought south park is enough for WoW literally in TV episodes... I loved the episode, but putting actual WoW animation in it made it weird to watch... Although I would love just people making jokes or references to it in general.

The jokes would end up being at our (the players) expense, as in taking jabs at the stereotypical "hardcore gamer" which in most cases simply isn't true. We're *not* all fat pimply-faced ugly virgins living in our parent's basement who never take a shower and live off fritos and redbull.
Yet that of course is how we're portrayed in 99% of references or humor in mainstream media.
If some positive references were made towards WoW, instead of the "get a life" jokes that are bound to happen, then I wouldn't mind seeing WoW mentioned more often on tv.

Don't get me wrong, I love that episode like it was my own child. I just can't believe the show with the "Mom! Toilet!" scene won an Emmy. Unfricking believable.

I agree with #2. The die hard gamer is always portrayed as being lazy Jabba-like losers.
I don’t like it and don’t want to see more of it. They can make jokes about the game itself. That would be cool. Just not about the players.
