Get your news RP style at Azeroth World News
If you are into roleplaying and World of Warcraft lore, Azeroth World News may be just the place for you. It's a relatively new fan fiction site where news stories are written in-character.For example, under the Culture heading you can find an article about the history of Duskwood which ends in a request for heroes to help them in their time of need. Another article describes how to get a chicken pet in Westfall, also completely in character.
The only OOC content they currently have on the site is something that may make a lot of you not want to support them. Azeroth World News has a classified section where players offer up their characters for sale or trade. I, for one, am very disappointed by this section of the site. They also have full column sized gold ads (among other advertising). Unfortunately, I have tried repeatedly to contact the people who run the site for more information but they have not yet answered any of my queries.
If you are ok with the existence of the anti-ToS transactions on Azeroth World News, it is a pretty site with some entertaining reading. I can see using it as a way to get some RP inspiration for zones you are about to quest in. Or you could use it as a way to immerse yourself in Azerothian lore during a quick break at work.

Please don't even link to a site that does that and give them more traffic! Why would you do that?

I do not think this is a real "RP" fan site. I see it as just another farming site trying to focus attention on one corner of the player base.
I know that as an RPer I would NEVER sell nor trade my character. To much time has been put into them to build them to where they are.

A distinction should be made between raw ToS violations and unethical ToS violations, that being, the difference between swapping your character for another character in a cash-less trade, and selling your character for the purposes of personal profit.
However, I don't believe you guys should be linking them. Those who choose to have gold ads on their site need to be cut off by legitimate fansites and left to wither and die.
TB.

And yet if I scroll up 1/2 page from this article, I see a "buy gold now" ad.
Hypocrisy FTW!

The site content is written by people who are actually playing the game and are fans of the game. If you take a few minutes and actually read the articles on the site, I think that is pretty evident. The writers work hard on the articles they do. I don't think you should ignore or discount their work because higher ups decide to include questionable advertising.

@4, I noticed that too. hehe
Who cares who the advertisers are? The fact is it costs money to host sites and the gold sellers are paying that money. It's the American way.
