Around Azeroth: Our first trip to Ironforge
Reader Christopher has recently started playing on an RP server, and is commemorating big moments for his character by the use of screenshots. Here, he's snapped a photo of his character's first time to Ironforge, with both his Dwarf and his pet Panda mimiking the the massive Dwarf statue in the background. Never having been much of a roleplayer myself, I have to wonder -- do many of you keep photo galleries of this nature?
Do you have a unique shot of Azeroth or Outland that you'd like to show off to the rest of the world? Tell us about it by e-mailing aroundazeroth@gmail.com! Or perhaps you'd just like to see more of your pics from Around Azeroth.

Not really, but you know what I've always wanted to do (and forget, every single time) is to take a grab of my character on the char select screen every level 1-70 then combine them into a short movie to see how they change over time.
One day I'll do it.

Yes, I admit to screenshotting moments like this - I think I have about a gig's worth now. I used irfanview to convert the old ones into jpegs to save some space. It is interesting I think to see the progression your toons make over time, as well as UI changes from using different addons, and seeing some people that may have become forgotten over time.

Ha, that's me and my pet. I'm glad to see that we finally made it into 'Around Azeroth'.
Anyways, yeah, screenshots are definitely a huge part about how I record my progress. It's my first time playing on an RP server so it feels more necessary than usual to record those unique moments (first time to a big new city, first quest completed, breaching levels 10,20,30,etc, first instance, first BG, so on and so on). On an RP server, there's obviously some more unique occurrences and stories to hold on to. My first major RP moment came just outside Thelsamar when a 'married' warrior and paladin rode into Loch Modan because they had overheard that an orc was in the premesis. They found him and proceeded to walk him out of the Loch (literally, they used Walk and closed in on him until he "got scared" and started to leave). They came over to me and questioned me about the situation, making sure I was unhurt and would be able to make it back to town.....At level 10 that's ALOT to spring on someone who's nevere RPed.

Yeah - got some. Only about a dozen shots, though...
sunset in Westfall, shots of feralas and my main hitting 70;
that kind of thing. Just a private photo album...
the 1-70 mini-movie sounds great, though.

I'm currently "vacationing in Azeroth" and taking pictures of my character in front of statues and monuments and memorials all around. Started as a joke. I'll send them in when I'm done.

I did it with my first character. First hippogryph ride, first visit to IF, etc.

No I don't take that many screenshots, but my jaw literally dropped when I first set foot in Ironforge. I don't mind admitting I was awestruck by the scale of it. Even now I do my best to be with friends I introduce to the game when they see the cities for the first time...
