Rogue with Twin Blades of Azzinoth sells account for almost $10,000
What can you do with $10,000? You can buy a nice used car, five awesome computer systems, 2,000 Happy Meals or 40,000 gumballs. You can also apparently become the best geared rogue in the world.
Zeuzo, a rogue from Method on Sylvanas-EU, has reportedly sold his account for 7000 euro, or $9,500. Zeuzo's gear includes the legendary sword set Twin Blades of Azzinoth, 4/5 Tier 6, and many other Hyjal/BT loots. The new owner has transferred to Kazzak and is happily PVPing (reportedly quite badly) under the name Shaks.
I would have assumed that Method would be about ready to kill Zeuzo for profiting off of their guild's hard work, but forum rumor has it that Zeuzo's now playing a brand new rogue in Method. So they can't be too mad at him. If someone in my guild was able to get $10,000 for their account, I certainly wouldn't fault them selling it ... particularly if they cut me in on a share of the profits.
One more interesting thing: looking at Shaks' profile, it hasn't been updated since September 3rd. Considering all the publicity this has gotten, there's a good chance that Blizzard has banned the account, and Shaks is 7000 euros poorer while Zeuzo's laughing at him from a beach in Cancun.

With this much publicity, the account is bound to be banned by Monday.
Kryptonls Sep 16th 2007 9:28PM
Well, as had been said and it should have been obvious enough - anyone buying an account at this stage should have the brains to realise that Blizz would ban it of course.
Oh wait, maybe not - given they paid $10k for it.
Idiot.
brogadorn Sep 16th 2007 9:48PM
Just remember, only blizzard believes they are the only ones that are allowed to profit from this game.
Charlie Taylor Sep 16th 2007 9:58PM
wow, the person who bought the character has no idea what they're doing. the spec is laughable, and they have a hit rating of 90. How is that even possible?

good chance the account is banned? Why?
From the links provided here, there's still no proof of the sale.
I'm not saying he SHOULDN'T be banned. . i'm just saying Blizzard can't ban someone for hearsay or even publicity. . .
It's not like they trawl the forums and go "oh, someone posted this guy bought an acct. . man, check out how many posts. . must be true. . .gonna ban his arse "
Goldwolf Sep 16th 2007 10:27PM
Doesn't it seem like this would cause some serious drama on behalf of that rogue's guild, as well?
Hm...

Now whos the goldfarmer.

@5 - Yes, they can actually. You have to agree to their ToS when you play, and the ToS pretty much says "we can ban you for whatever reason we want". Of course, they don't go around banning like crazy as that would draw a lot of criticism and many people would leave the game. But in this case, they would be quite able to ban him, and then it would be up to the player to prove that the account was not sold and that the rumours were actually false.

The non-update of the Armoury profile really means nothing atm. There are issues with the EU Armoury site, where many profiles haven't been updated in a while (problems seemed to start when the website address changed), e.g. I've got my shaman up to level 46 now, but the Armoury is reporting him as still being level 32. There's a thread about it on the Reporting an Error forum that was started by a blue.... so it's a known issue, apparently...... /shrug

Shaks' armory is updated. He appears to be a total noob, as he only has one Warglaive equipped, LOL.
Wulfhere Sep 16th 2007 11:27PM
Actually, he has both of them equipped. If you check his profile you'll see he's getting the full set bonus. For some reason the armory doesn't list both of them when equipped sometimes.

Awaiting to see "Title: 10K Account is now Banned" within www.wowinsider.com
Rubin Sep 17th 2007 12:51AM
Apparently the account was banned from what I read on the wow forums. This apparently happened a week ago and if you notice, the character last updated their profile on Sept 3, if the guy spent 10 grand I think he would've logged in by now. Go to the 5th page of the 2nd link in the article, Benchanter of Gurubashi said,
"Late thread, welcome to last week.
The account was banned five days as soon it became known he had sold it. Zeuzo rerolled another rogue, he already talked to his guild about it."

lol my bad 4th page :P
Justin Sep 17th 2007 1:43AM
I hate to use such a terrible line but only one comes to mind... "More money than sense" I wish I had the bankroll to toss about 10 grand like it was nothing. Probably some spoiled kid of some unbelievably wealthy family, who's never done anything for themselves except the level 11 toon they gave up on because it was too hard.
Rich Sep 17th 2007 1:52AM
LOL what a loser... hey look at me I have the twin blades and almost a complete set of T6!!!!!
talk about more money then sense...
ExHumble Sep 17th 2007 2:39AM
This is almost as bad as Humble's website. Check it out and see. They apparently only like white people!
sad.

It would be a nice gesture if Zeuzo gave the guy his money back... But I don't expect him to. God knows I wouldn't.
