WoW Moviewatch: Sunday Break
The original video this is paying homage to is a machinima by Dopefish. Baron Soosdon has taken that original exploration concept in hand and with Snoman's updated model-work, provides us with an interesting machinima full of beautiful music and lovely dark imagery. While I've no idea if it was intended, the imagery makes me think of the upcoming Wrath of the Lich King expansion. (I hope it looks half that cool!)
In any case, hats off to Baron Soosdon, Snoman, and Dopefish for their combined ideas that give us this lovely Sunday Break to enjoy!

I just have to ask...
What did they use to make that?

This one is a real visual gem, probably one of the best post processing jobs I've seen of wow footage.
I would guess that the footage has had a lot of work done on it in something like FXHome, Combustion or After Effects where saturation and hue has been filtered, soft glow added and atmospheric elements have been introduced as separate video layers. The whole thing works very well together with the audio.
Great work, I just wish there was a story to it, it has the feeling of a movie.

When I watch these, I always wish it was real WoW that looked like that.

@3 yeah, no kidding
Though the coolest ingame effect I've seen would have to be the cat-form part of the quests on Azuremyst -- pretty close to some of those scenes IMO.

loved that mellow ass tune in the background, anyone know what it was?

Oh nice that it got featured here too :)
The video editing and effecting was done with Sony Vegas, using an addon package (Magic Bullet Movie Looks HD) which brings that glow and colourization. The actual model change is "simply" done by using MyWarcraftStudio and some other tools.
If possible, please download the full-quality version from this address: http://www.warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=46811 (there are also wallpapers available from the movie :) since that YouTube sort of destroys everything.

Amazing video - really shows off WoW in ways we'd have never thought of. :)
And of course the music fits perectly, so congrats on a job well done, and the HD one on Firefront just makes it even better still.
So did you like change the models and then capture the in-game action, and then edit it with the above programs and tools?

@7: I actually did not do the main model change at all. It was originally done by Dopefish back in 2006 and currently resurrected to the "modern" WoW by Snoman. The only model edit on the video done by me are the black & white phoenix (which technically aren't even actual model edits, just recoloured skins).
And that was pretty much it then, load the model change, point, shoot and record. Though I was too sissy to go do it on a live realm (unlike Dopefish) :P
