Show your support for Hordes or Allies

But she says she made them for her and her roommate-- does she keep them both on the same car? I don't know how the whole "Blizzard-created logo" copyright thing would work (and I'm not quite down with putting stickers on my car), but selling both of these as magnets would be a great idea. Very awesome.

this put a smile on my face.

Rawwwr! Ribbons are for commemoration or awareness...
I'm annoyed by the softball/baseball/football ones too.
Greg Sep 18th 2007 1:24PM
For The Alliance doesn't really work does it?.... FOR THE HORDE!!!
Coherent Sep 18th 2007 1:34PM
Although my main character is currently Alliance, I identify with the Horde, so I'd have the horde one on my car.
cdelatorre48 Sep 18th 2007 1:34PM
I agree with Addie.
yeah put one next to your breast cancer awareness ribbon. rolleyes, lame
Mike Schramm Sep 18th 2007 1:36PM
Addie, that's kind of why I like these. They poke fun at how ubiquitous those support ribbons have become. I'm all for supporting things like breast cancer awareness, but putting a ribbon on your car isn't really supporting anything. I'd rather have the back of my car show off my Horde affiliation, and have my weekly activities (working with charities, making donations) show off what I really care about.

I say less than a week before JINX or someone else has these for sale.

Yea, these less-than-serious ribbons do seem in poor taste, but that's what happens when you try to popularize awareness by making it a fashion accessory (livestrong, etc)... you invite imitators and less serious co-opting of the same mechanism.

Thanks for the great comments guys :)
And yes, I do know that its taking a lighthearted look at something serious, which is why I did it. :)
And if anyone is interested in ordering them, you can go to www.manaprincess.com
Wait till you see what I've got in works for Xmas :)

Actually, by placing that For The Horde sticker one ones car you are showcasing that you care more about Breast Cancer Awareness than those stupid f'n ribbons.
Because if Breast Cancer comes knocking on my horde toons door, I'll be looting its corpse in no time.

I don't see it being disrespectful or anything. It's not like bumper magnets are a sacred idea or anything. It always bothers me when I see some jackass drive by with a "Support Our Troops" magnet on their car. I'm sure most of these people have never done anything to support the troops in a real and tangible way. Support The Magnet Company is more like it.
RanWitScissorz Sep 18th 2007 2:32PM
Most of the time, "Support The Troops" is on vehicles that are owned by military members or family of them. At least around here it is...
Jamesisgreat Sep 18th 2007 2:50PM
Haha - what about "Support out Troops in Outland"?
Richard Sep 18th 2007 2:54PM
I prefer the magnets that say:
"I Support Chinese Magnet Factories"
The majority of the idiots that put the yellow ribbons on their vehicles would NEVER pick up a rifle, ever.
rsemirag Sep 18th 2007 3:01PM
"and yes, I wish I could buy one, too."
As was stated in the LJ thread, you CAN buy one:

No. Just no. It's bad enough I see this ribbon concept abused with soccer-mom motto's on them..now this? Corny, and ignorant of what this design was intended to be used for.
Basic Sep 18th 2007 4:13PM
@16 If you wear your heart on your sleeve you're going to get taken down a notch like that.
Patriotism or dedication to a cause requires more of you than the presence of a sticker on your bumper, and as opposed to this *game* the real causes we contribute to do not show up in a checklist of factions and rewards that you can min/max for everyone to check out your new flashy Exalted Breast Cancer Awareness Tabbard. People should volunteer, and give, and participate in these things because it is the right thing to do, not because it's popular or fashionable.

Bawwwwwwwwwww
Listen up, in this country the ribbons have already been made jokes, they're fashon more then true support, does this personally hurt you to see? If so, you need some help.
Christopher Burdge Sep 18th 2007 5:09PM
I want one..."For the Horde"
