I love the idea of role playing but for me it just doesn't work. Since role playing isn't mandatory on RP servers I find that most people don't RP (so, why did they roll a character on an RP server then? who knows?).

I can start a conversation with someone in character and they respond in character and then someone else chips in about their uber alt, oh, and when is patch 2.2 coming in, etc. If I try to keep in character they just don't get it, "yeah, you know patch 2.2?? what's wrong with you?"

sigh...
