WoW Moviewatch: Frame of Mind
This little machinima music video comes with a simple tagline: "Gear can be epic. Friendship can be legendary." Winning first place in the Ataris music video contest, this video is a pop-music version of something I like to see in art and films, sometimes called "visual poetry," where a series of images can convey a symbolic meaning which is open to interpretation by the viewer. It begins very much like many people must start out when they create their first character in WoW, and gradually progresses into something very different. What do you think it means?

i never comment, but this was outstanding. i loved it. it represents more than wow, i think it means you need to learn to break out of a mundane, routine life and go have fun and live life to the fullest!

That was an amazing video. As a film major, I notice the effects he used and know that putting all that together would take a professional amount of skill and even more time. Kudos to him.

It's way too easy for people to get caught up in the desire to level up, get new items, etc. for their character and lose sight of the relations they build with other people in the game. I've seen too many people get into fights in game just because someone went with a different talent spec, chose a different gear setup, or made a simple mistake in a group. When you step back, the occurrences in game are a series of numbers, but there are real people behind the computer screen.

It means I should roll a Night Elf. They can fly like that?

Absolutely amazing video. Makes you stop and think about what you are doing in game, as well as in life. A much deserved first place on that one.

Fun fact: if you go to the machinima site and download the 52 MB version, watch it and stop at 1:56 and check the bottom left corner. Nice gold site advertising, huh? ;)

A good video, reminding us that it's more important in the end to have fun and good relationships than it is to play strictly for gear and rewards.
Nobody rps on the rp servers anymore, and when they do, they role-play Orcs and Tauren as Shakespearean Public Speakers.
I are teh sadderest. :(

Held my full attention. Bravo!

Amazing! This video captures what most WoW players understand and people that have never played an MMO can't grasp... people make the difference. I would have never liked this game as much as I do if this were a single player game.
This video truly shows that is not just about the gear, or leveling up or raiding, its about a community of people that like to play together. Is a place where our similarities and our differences live together in harmony.

Absolutely stunning.
And it doesn't have to mean anything. It can just be enjoyed and appreciated for the beauty it is.
