Breakfast Topic: Repeat visits
Seeya from Dethecus has an interesting question for us to answer this Saturday morning: What's the total number of times you've visited the instance you've seen the most of?Most guilds raided Molten Core many, many times to gear up everyone that needed it, and back at 60, I spent many weekends plowing through the lava packs down there. I've also run Shadow Labs many, many times since BC dropped, and Steam Vaults and the Arcatraz have also seen me go through quite a few times. Nowadays, Karazhan is probably getting the most traffic, although the cooldown on it probably keeps people going through there as often as they'd like. And don't forget lowbie instances-- I've been through SM and Deadmines on every character at least a few times.
But for me, the instance I've been through the most times overall is definitely UBRS. There were days, when I first hit 60, when we would run it twice a day. I've tanked it, healed it, and DPSed it. I've learned it, taught it, marked it, master looted it, done every quest in there and seen every drop. I've seen a hunter pull Drakk, a Mage pull Drakk, a Warrior tank them all, and even seen a Rogue do the pull. I can't count the number of times I've seen Eviscerate IX drop, and at one point, I could probably list off both all the pulls and Rend and Nef's dialogue to you-- without being near a computer. UBRS is my instance, and I'd put my runs through there at almost 100.
So what's the instance you've run the most, and how many times have you been through?

It would definately have to be Deadmines simply because it's the first instance most people do and where they learn how to play in an instance so I think i've done it at least 10 times on every alliance character i've made 5 times to complete the quest and 5 times running lowbies through.

I've done Black Morass more times than I wish to count.

Probably a tie between Black Morass and Steamvaults. Black Morass because I wanted the Hourglass of the Unraveller. I passed on it the first time I saw it drop because I was still specc'd resto, lost the next two rolls on it when it dropped, then passed so my guild leader, who'd run BM at least 40 times could have it (I pulled him in on add duty with the promise that if it dropped, he could have it). Four more runs through after that, and it dropped. Everyone that could have used it passed so I could have it (love my friends). Not consecutive runs, mind you, just a lot spread over the past few months.
Steamvaults because I wanted the Earthwarden for hate-tanking Gruul. Labor Day weekend I think I ran it eight times, with heroic Slave Pens thrown in once or twice for variety.
I've run Shadow Labyrinth a bunch too, helping people who needed stuff from it.

Probably either Wailing Caverns or Stratholme for me. Leveled up a few characters through the Barrens, so Wailing Caverns is a staple for that. When I got to level 60, I was doing a lot of Stratholme, more than Scholomance or UBRS (never actually finished an UBRS run).

I'd have to go with VC for all-time most visited, but as far as endgame content goes, I've spent a decent amount of time farming the spiders in Black Morass for Netherweb silk, which takes a decent amount of time when you're soloing.

I've run SM more times than I care to admit on every character I've ever gotten to that level.

I'd say it's maybe a tossup between Mechanar and Scholomance.
I know mech for sure in the BC instances, because I ran that thing soooooo many times for my friend to get an alchemy drop, and then for heroic badges since it's pretty much the shortest and easiest heroic. I was running mech 5-6 times a day for a few weeks for quite a while, just going back in immediately after every run.
Scholo, I think I ran soooo many times again for the rare alchemy drops. (the flask off Ras) and even more just to get to the alchemy lab after that. I guess I didn't finish the whole thing nearly as many times as I'd run in at least once a week to help my friend whip up a load of flasks.

Oh, and I forgot I guess that in the process of twinking up characters I think I ran SFK roughly 500 times in a month to get enough of the blue BOE weapons.
I've been able to get to a 15 minute full clear (every single mob dead) on my warrior and figured that I get a BOE blue once every 8-10 runs. Probably the most profitable solo farming thing in the old game for me, when getting 500g/week was considered awesome.

Definetely either UBRS or Scholo. I really wanted the last three pieces of my dungeon 1 set, so I ran those at least 100 times each. And I never got those last pieces.
Deadmines, Scarlet Monastery, or Gnomeregan is probably a distant third.
SaxxonPike Sep 22nd 2007 10:30AM
I'd say Scarlet Monastery, even at 60. It was my cash cow. Silk, gray items, disenchantment food...
If it's for non-farming purposes, I'd have to say Blackrock Spire, by far. I used to run that place religiously. Usually the upper part. I had every single piece of loot from the place, whether I could use it or not. We were recruiting members at a really fast pace and wanted to prepare them for MC. So we took 15 (back in the day when you could) and set out for Drakk. In all honesty, I found the place to be enjoyable. Not as enjoyable as say, Scarlet Monastery (nothing beats that instance, I could NEVER get bored with that) but it's definitely one that I could run a few times straight, then do it again the next day.

Undead Strat. I actually did the Baron 45 with a great guild group (most of us in some ZG gear), but I couldn't advance the chain until my leggings dropped. I hate Baron Rivendare.

Dead-side Stratholome, hands-down. Not only because I was farming it for pants, but because it was--and still is--one of the most fun instances in the entire freakin' game. Second would probably be Scholomance, followed by Blackrock Spire, both Lower and Upper. Upper was way more fun, though.
Post-BC, I've probably spent the most time crying in frustration in the Botanica, because Warp Splinter is a jackass who doesn't drop my gorram robe.

Scarlet Monastery, no question, particularly SM Cath. How many times did I run that with guildies looking to lewt teh hat?
CauthonDM Sep 22nd 2007 10:50AM
I've since stopped counting, but at 60 I'd done UBRS 79 times without ever getting the Wildheart Vest. Statholme came in at 105, but I managed to get the leggings quite early on there. A lot helped that I was a 60 healing druid with a real lack of healers on the server. I'd literally get an offer of another run as soon as I'd hearthstoned back to IF. Doing three or four instance each evening really makes then mount up.
For raid instances, MC and Ony were visited more often than I'd like. At it's peak, my guild was running two teams a week to each instance (80 raiding characters) so I'd go as much as I wanted.
In TBC I must have been to KZ more than anywhere else. The speed of rep gain and the number of equivalent instances, has meant that you don't need to run places 100+ times, 4 or 5 times each with quests is more than sufficent.

Deadmines - Easily 300+ Times - I do 'run throughs' for lowbies/alts/twinks in my guild / every week.
Runner Up: Scarlet Monestary
Black Morass - Enough to be exalted three times over getting everyone attuned for Karazhan. This has to be the worst instance for a Mage (or Hunter) - all you see are whelps!
Druid dude Sep 22nd 2007 1:14PM
BWL 60 or 65 times, maybe a little more. Year of being in there every... single... week... plus a few.
Steamvaults probably 50-ish times, though it seemed like more. Even after getting exalted with CE, someone always needed a tank. Got the whole thing down to around an hour, speed pulling.
Jericon Sep 22nd 2007 11:38AM
Mech. It was the Tempest Keep instance of choice to get revered, and then it was the heroic of choice after that. Also, Shadow Labs. I ran that place over 70 times for the Leggings of Assassination to drop, but they never did. That was the one piece that I needed to complete the set.
Delta Sep 22nd 2007 11:30AM
I probably ran SM and ZF the most so far (57) I would say BRD or any of those but its so hard to get a pug for BRD, UBRS, or any 60 old world instance on my server since there is Outlands. Looking forward to Outlands instance though, soon as I feel like grinding up to 58

Scarlet Monastery -- all but Graveyard.
On my rogue ... maybe 20 times for real, then tons of times after that for farming or helping guildies.
On my warrior ... countless times in my low 30s trying to get the full scarlet crusade armor set.
On my 'lock ... a dozen or so times
On the druid ... almost as many times as with my warrior.
