Weight loss program in Wrath of the Lich King?
While browsing the forums earlier today, I came across this strange yet thought-provoking question in a thread created by Laurelyn."I rerolled a BELF Pally and leveled her to 44, however after playing my trim little girl for a month or two I came back to my human paladin only to find the pally I once loved and saw as curvaceous now seems to me .. well significantly over weight.
Will I have the opportunity to perhaps enroll her in a weight loss program when WotLK comes out?"
While I don't think that the human female models in game are anything even remotely close to overweight, it is an interesting question. We've reported on the new ways that WotLK may change your character's appearance in the past. Wouldn't this qualify as just another way to alter your character's appearance?
What do you think? Would you want to make your character more thin (or heavier) if you could?

I would absolutely feed my (female) blood elf a few sandwiches and put some meat on her bones.

Fireplug dwarfs FTW

Ugh, no. Every female in the game would be a stick.

its wasted resources for development time when they could be using it on something else.

@7 umm do you really think that changing a couple polygons would be a huge "waste of resources"? I bet one guy could do it in an afternoon if not just a couple minutes

It quite possibly would take a lot of resources, what with all the different gear having to be fit for different weight models. That and I think it'd just be silly, since most players would go the "thin" route rather than the cute and curvy, like the Human Females.
Now, if we could change "size" along the lines of Final Fantasy XI, I would be all over that. I loved being able to pick "small," "medium," or "large," and while it didn't change too much of the overall appearance, it was nice. I was actually pretty put off by WoW not having anything like that. I want to have a short Troll!

Real women have curves. That is all.

Ugh, forget that, this person is twisted. We're looking at this from the wrong angle. In Wrath, can we make our female Blood Elves put on a few pounds? Their arms and legs shouldn't get any skinnier. Some of the other races could use a bit more junk in the trunk, too.

My main is an Orc hunter so dont talk about fat hips ;)
Well, about the blood elves... they arent like normal humans, they are addicted of mana and casting. When you compare this with junkies in real life, they look also something strange and often underweighted, so I think the "thinness" of the blood elves is ok.

Dear god, why would anyone want to change our lovely human ladies? Those boney belfs on the other hand need to eat a sammich before I break'em like twigs.

Hey fatty!
Mike Sep 23rd 2007 9:01PM
I would make a huge fat female nelf and name it "cosplay".
As much as people will cry that an idea like this is a waste of blizzard's attention, I think it's a good idea to increase character customization. We already have enough instances to keep us (the majority of the wow population) entertained until WotLK. One thing I'd love to see them steal from guild wars is color dyes. Not only would it serve as a goldsink, which blizzard seems to like, but it would also be a great way to make your character not look like they got their mismatched clothes from the 70's.
Khallah Sep 23rd 2007 9:13PM
Blizzard have commented on dyes before, and supposedly it's too hard to implement in the WoW engine. Pity, as it would be a nice addition.
