2.2 coming to the live realms tomorrow morning
By now, it's almost a certainty-- not only did the PTR shut down last week, but Neth has almost confirmed on the forums that patch 2.2 is coming tomorrow morning. That means, I guess, that Amanda was right on our podcast a few weeks ago-- she was the only one who predicted it would show up this week, so kudos to her. Of course, it also messes up my plans for the week, unfortunately. I was planning to snipe Brutes and capture flags at least through Thursday, but now I may have to punctuate that with some voice chatting. And besides voice chatting, what else are we seeing in this new patch we've waited so long for? The full patch notes are here for now (though they may be replaced with the 2.2.2 notes in the next day or so). Anti-AFK measures are showing up, as well as the Haste rebalancing. And most of the class stuff seems like bugfixes more or less. If you're a Druid, it'll be good to know that you can attack from further away while in Cat form, Shaman ankhs will now stack to ten (nice!) and Hunters with Raptor pets can now go out and learn Dash, but otherwise, it's all bugfixes-- some more harsh than others (the Six Demon Bag no longer benefits from spell damage, so bummer for that one).
But the thing that will really pull me away from Halo 3 this week is probably the simplest. Finally, my Orc male shoulders are returned to full size. Finally, after more than two months, I can walk around Orgrimmar with my head held up proudly, trapped between two huge masses of metal. See you tomorrow, 2.2!

yay in 1 day pally blessing will last 10 minutes! way back in the day, didn't they only used to last 2 minutes instead of 5?
Baluki Sep 24th 2007 2:20PM
Is this the patch where Jewelcrafters are getting new JC-only gem designs, or is that the next one?
Other than that, this looks like 2.5 months of bug fixes. And voice chat.

dang, was hoping for one more AFCaving weekend =p

Oh, I should also say that I'm way more excited about Patch 2.2.2. Can't wait to get myself a new Ram mount, and eventually a broom mount!

@ Paul (aka #1), not sure about the 2 minutes for blessings but it will be nice that blessings will last 10 minutes and greater blessings lasting 30 minutes. It will certainly reduce the number of Symbol of Kings I bring to a raid (usually between 200-250)
The bummer, though, is that blessing of sacrifice is getting nerfed, though a 1 minute CD isn't the end of world, just a PITA

DANGIT!! DANGIT!! DANGIT!! My Six Demon Bag hits for 300+ depends on the spell it spits out...man this suck I love that thing. Now it's going to suck and I'll have to find a crappier trinket.

Anyone else have the ominous premonition that those factions that are plagued by AFK'ers will now have their active players spend time reporting the AFK'ers and lose anyway?

This line alone makes these the best patch notes since ZG was introduced:
"Resilience Rating: The reduction to the percent chance to get a critical strike now also reduces the damage dealt by damage over time effects by the same percentage."
About. Effing. Time.

I think the AV changes may play out like that for a couple weeks at most, then the AFK botters will likely start to give up. It just won't be as profitable per hour as it would be to go actually play some other game. Or they'll just run around killing the rams/wolves or whatever. The truly lazy people are the only ones who will most likely have to give up or give in. Hopefully the threshold is low for AFK debuffing.

I looked through the patch notes there is nothing listed concerning Orc shoulder-size. Hopefully this will be changed and my shoulders will be back to normal tomorrow.

A recent patch note showed that the only kind of Combat that will remove the AFK AV Debuff is PvP Combat, so no, they won't be killing wolves and rams to lose the Debuff. THAT is what's gonna end them for sure.

I just can't wait for 2.3! With out guild struggling on gruul and mag, i think the gear upgrades from zul'aman will give us that edge we need to down mag and get into SSC.
Voice chat will be nice for pugs though. To bad my realm isnt getting it tommorow. /cry

It will be interesting to see how well the afk fixes work. For me personally I think the solution is to remove the cave guards from AV and Move the spawn point in EOS to the ground level.

I'm seeing a lot of crowd control effects being limited to 10 seconds on PvP targets. Is it just me or wasn't crowd control already limited to like eight seconds in PvP?
