New graveyards in 2.2.2
Hot on the heels of tomorrow's expected 2.2 release, Neth has posted the short-but-sweet 2.2.2 patch notes, which include Brewfest and Hallow's End, featuring lots of new seasonal rewards and quests. As we've said before, the fact that both of these holidays are coming up quick means we can't be more than one or two weeks away from this patch's release. And the other interesting feature of this patch is the addition of quite a few new graveyards all over Old Azeroth. Southern Barrens, Western Plaguelands, Alterac Mountains, Searing Gorge and the Badlands are all getting extra graveyards (there's no indication whether they're Horde or Alliance specific or otherwise), and Tanaris, Winterspring, Stonetalon and Un'Goro are all getting two.
Wow. That should significantly speed things up in Un'Goro, Tanaris, and the Southern Barrens especially, since I have less-than-fond memories of super-long corpse runs there. Badlands, too, was pretty maddening, and while the long corpse run wasn't the only reason most players aren't big fans of Uldaman, it was definitely a reason for that. This is no doubt part of Blizzard's aim to speed up levels 1-60 for players. This alone, of course, doesn't exactly make me want to go back and run another alt through (only new content would do that), but at least when we do run another alt through, it'll be a little easier.

?
Uldaman's graveyard is like 100ft from the entrance of the cave

For those who don't know, the notes are posted on the Test Realm Forum.

It has to be soon because it includes the OCTOBER-fest clone. Yes?

Blizzard obviously just loves laughing at those who die in STV. Honestly, that zone is the one in most need of a new graveyard.
Draddog Sep 24th 2007 4:49PM
Any chance we get a better graveyard for Coilfang instances? That long run is silly.
Urthona Sep 24th 2007 4:59PM
Praise Buddha. Thank ye Blizzard.

How about a FP to rebel camp in STV for Alliance?
JMS Sep 24th 2007 5:25PM
Bah, I'd trade all those graveyards for one at the entrance to the CFR instances.

Aww, no more of this?

I really appreciate that Blizzard continues to tweak and improve things in the Old World. As we've learned from Blade's Edge Mountains, and extra graveyard or two can make the region much more enjoyable. If by some chance a Blizz employee is reading this, may I suggest some further Old World changes for 2.3? =)
-Please give us another gy in desolace (or two =P) and another gy somewhere in the middle of STV
-add a couple of higher level and/or elite guards to some lower-level towns such as Southshore. World PvP is fun and adds excitement, but not being able to do any southshore quests at all because the npcs are being repeatedly killed for hours or even days at a time is NOT fun. =) And level 70 players are not going to all pitch in and guard the town for us regularly...it's not a realistic expectation. (At least not on my server. For every 10 horde killing npc's we MIGHT get a single alli to help us who's lvl 60+ for about 15 minutes before he/she gets sick of it.)
-Add a portal to transport between IF and either Exodar or Darnassus. You guys must've spent a long time developing those beautiful cities yet no one uses them!! Darnassus and Exodar are ghost-towns all the time.
Thank you! Keep the improvements coming please. I like when Blizz enables my alt-aholism XD

Oh and if you have a little extra time, please completely redesign Silvermoon City =P It's fun to look at but it confuses the hell outa me. Thanks ;)

"...Un'goro"
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!"

my2cents starts with another gy request and ends with a "plz REDESIGN Silvermoon City, kthxbye". Class.
The addition of graveyards is merely the second step they're taking. One would assume more flightpaths on the way, perhaps repair NPCs near instance portals. All in all, these are ENORMOUS changes to the play in the aforementioned areas. Baby steps, but appreciated.
When can we hope for the "added content" to Dustwallow and Azshara?

GYs are nice - but how about a couple more FPs? One at Shimmering Flats and one at Ghostwalker Post would significantly lessen the pain of the 30-40 grind, until you get your mount.
RogueJedi86 Sep 24th 2007 7:40PM
No need for one at Shimmering Flats. Gadgetzan is just over the hill, and there are no 40-50 leveled mobs on the path between the Flats and Gadget.

i think there should be a flight point in the mage tower and another in the trade district of SW, so i can teleport and the fly directly into the AH. who's with me?!
Torcie Sep 24th 2007 10:29PM
Hello?
new graveyard in Stonetalon, and for the love of god STV.
