Let's see, we have a race of aliens that crash landed their ship and joined the alliance. We have always had guns. There are shields with rotating parts and obvious mechanical systems. Teleportation systems, and instances floating in space that are just mechanical/magic hybrid technology ships.
This game has always had steampunk as an influence. The gnome mounts are mechanical!
I play to enjoy my paladin flying about on some crazy looking contraption that might fall apart at any minute.
I think there should be 3 different mounts. The generic should be some strange gyrocopter sort of thing. The gnomish should look like their planes in that evil instance. And the goblin version should be effectively a missle with some stirrups, a saddle and a joystick that has an 8-ball on it.
All of them should look dangerous to use and be funny as hell to hear.
I would even use it over a netherdrake...
