Patch 2.3 and you: Thursday grab-bag
Though the torrent of tidbits coming from Blizz Central has slowed, there are still a few new and interesting items for everyone (particularly Hunters, Mages, and melee people) to peruse today.- [Hunter] Trueshot Aura will be free to cast and is going to last until canceled. (source)
- [Hunter] Serpent Sting, Immolation Trap and Explosive Trap are going to gain additional damage based on ranged attack power. (source)
- [Mage] Fire Ward and Frost Ward now gain additional benefit from spell damage bonuses (source)
- [Mage] Detect Magic removed, all players will see their target's beneficial effects at all times (source)
- [Rogue] one other change to poisons though is that they will last for one hour now, increased from 30 minutes. (source)
- all disarm immunity effects in the game were changed to 50% disarm duration reduction (non stacking) (source)
- The Guild Banks are still in the works and planned for patch 2.3. (source)
- Duration of wizard and mana oils created by enchanters has been increased. (source)
- Auction House will now sort server side. If multiple pages exist you will be able to sort across all pages.
- Auction House post times have been changed to 12, 24, and 48 hours. Deposit prices remain the same for each time increment.
- You will now be able to ctrl-click a recipe to preview the item the recipe will create in the dressing room.
- Ogri'la Faction Vendor: This vendor now sells potions useable anywhere for a large number of Apexis Shards. 50 shards, as good as super mana/heal pots. (source for the above 4)

As a full-time Auction House reseller, this change to 48 hour auctions isn't too big. when I post, I also look for new sales, so I'd still be using 24 hour auctions. What is nice is now the significant reduction in posting costs for a 24 hour auction. Bravo! Good idea! Give me 2.3 now!

The disarm nerf seems mostly aimed at allowing rogues to fight warriors more easily in PvP. It hits the big two handed weapons hardest, obviously. Since I'm not on a PvP server, it's a side issue for me.
I'm more interested in what the effects are going to be of allowing warriors to gain big threat in defensive stance with Mortal Strike or Bloodthirst. I've mostly given up on tanking; it seems not to involve combat with the monsters, but rather struggling to compete with your teammates. I do have friends that I'd be willing to tank an instance for, and I might still be able to, and so have a reason to keep all my tanking stuff.

@17 just check the box marked usable items or whatever at the top of the screen. It only lists recipes you have the level to learn and dont already know
only a few things that really catch my eye are disarm changes, I hate being disarmed when i tank things, its why i always level unarmed, at least i can hit things even if i lose my specials, as a crafter i would ask that they increase the drop chance or just the farmability of the weapon chain pattern though.
secondly, with auctions being sorted server side how will this effect auction addons? I suspect auctioneer to be less effected, but auction filter plus had some very useful features i have grown fond of, and it sounds like those are exactly the bits being changed

Everything sounds like great changes to me. I know lots of Warrior players disagree, but as much as disarm sucks, it's a challenging mechanic and the ability to completely remove it (with talent or item) removes the challenge.
I've been looking really hard at the talents for all the other classes and you know, I can't seem to find a single talent that makes a character immune to Stun, silence, snares, etc. Now there are ways to get out of snares but those are activated abilities or resistances, same for silence or stun. So having an immunity to disarm is rather overpowered.
I look on the bright side, the reduction in time given by the talent or items is a better resistance than casters get to silence or anyone gets to stun. So out of all of the mechanics disarm will suck the least.

I didn't see the XP curve increase for lowbies mentioned or the new Goblin town in Dustwallow. These will be in 2.3 as well.

@6: i quess the guy number 4 (lol) meant the fact that you can use detect magic to make it harder to dispel other magic debuffs like polymorph.

I'm disappointed in the decision to remove Detect Magic. This is another case of diluting classes. Plus, I liked to use it as a way of marking targets, even with raid icons.
