Patch 2.3: Cenarion Expedition flying mount edition [Updated]

You've heard so much news about patch 2.3, now here's a bit more. In response to a poster who was complaining that the Horde will soon have access to an Alliance mount (the Ram, via Brewfest quests) while the Alliance doesn't have access to any sort of raptor or wolf or anything, Bornakk says:

While it would be available for both factions, we could also put in an epic flying mount that is purchasable for those who are exalted with the Cenarion Expedition. It would be very expensive, but it would be a sign of an accomplishment for people who go the extra mile and purchase one.

Hmmm... this does sound like a good idea, how about we do this in patch 2.3?

What sort of flying mount could it be, we wonder? Hippogryphs? I would have guessed nether rays if the Sha'tari Skyguard hadn't already snagged those. Does the Cenarion Expedition have a secret cache of flying cows they're not telling anyone about? The questions continue to pile upon mysteries already heaped upon enigmas!

Update: Riddle unraveled! Apparently, it is a Hippogryph, and at the normal 280% speed. Thanks Icho, for asking the question on the forums and finding out for us! I had been hoping for an enormous Zangarmarsh firefly after reading some of the comments -- that would be classy! But alas, it is not meant to be.

A large bird using the same model as the druid flight form is my best guess.

@11.. I already mentioned the CCG Tiger... Horde have access to two tigers. Fantastic...

If you want it to be "even", then give the alliance a spectral Raptor.

If so... then that means there will finally be a flyer ingame which I would actually be interested in besides the griffon.

So horde get access to...

hippogryphs (easy)
rams (very easy)
zulian tiger (low drop rate)
spectral tiger

Alliance get access to a 0.1% drop rate raptor and a 0.001% drop rate undead horse from outdated instances.

This is just silly... Its not the exalted CE rep thats hard. Any scrub can get then with their eyes closed. Its the extra 2k gold just to buy it. No thanks.

I want to see a mount rep grind like Wintersaber Trainers. Then maybe I'll bother. No more of this "Spend lots of gold, or do daily quests for a week and you can have a special mount!" If everyone has one, is it that special?

I hope only the alliance gets the hippogryph. no offense but seeing a cow on a bird smaller than a bat or gryphon would look ridiculous.

I really like the bat idea for the horde tho.

Yay for Hippogriffs. Will they be armored? Colored fantastically like the Azsharan varieties?

I knew it was merely a matter of time before the Hippogriff was added to the game. But I'll never get one. My nelf is a druid and my draenei has a nether ray.

PERHAPS on my Blood Elf, but I'll wait to see if they'll give us a red coloring.
